Recommended specs....
On the heels of our Gone Gold announcement, we’ve put the final touches on the recommended PC requirements for The Evil Within. These specifications are listed as “recommended” as they are the settings we’ve determined ensure that your gameplay experience plays as intended by the development team.
Note: We do not have a list of minimum requirements for the game. If you’re trying to play with a rig with settings below these requirements (you should plan to have 4 GBs of VRAM regardless), we cannot guarantee optimal performance.
Recommended PC System Specifications
- 64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
i7 with four plus cores - 4 GBs RAM
- 50 GB of hard drive space*
- GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4GBs of VRAM
- High Speed Internet Connection
Steam account and activation
*It’s worth noting that the 50 GB of space required is for the PC install. When the installation is complete, the game will take up ~41 GB of HDD space.
So basically you've built this game for now generation consoles with their unified arch and you're literally throwing the same code at the PC version. 4GB of VRAM? Just to make it clear to everyone, you've said...
(you should plan to have 4 GBs of VRAM regardless)
Apart from Titans and a range of obscure, lower tier GPUs, excepting the brand new 970 and 980 that you couldn't have possibly built this game for, you're essentially giving the middle finger to all those top tier 7xx range GPU users with their 3GB of VRAM.
I bought Wolfenstein and I knew at that point that you were no longer coding to the PC platform on your multiplats. This has now cemented that belief. You won't get a penny from me and I hope my fellow PC gamers follow suit to show companies like you that you can't treat your PC userbase like trash and think you can get away with it.
Disgusting behaviour and I hope you get called out on it in the gaming press. It's nothing less than you deserve.
