Do You All Still Play This?

I make pauses, but I've returned to MW pretty recently, and now I'm preparing a fresh Oblivion installation. Adequately spiced with tons of mods, obviously :)

I still play time to time, of course I have so many memories of it from years of playing that I could answer almost any question about the game without even having to paly it in the last year or so. Just nothing lore related, I dont get into that much. But quest or gameplay related, I think I speak for almost everyone on the Oblivion forums when I say I (we) are a wealth of knowledge.

Whoa! You guys sure are an active community! Most games this old don't have much of a community after a few years.

The game works on so many levels.

It is packed with traditional style quests.

It allows for amazingly diverse ways of playing.

In and of itself, the artwork alone in this game is monumental. Every stone chip on a ruined column had to be modeled and painted. At a max-graphics setting, the outdoor scenery still can take my breath away.

Add to all that, the capacity to endlessly mod it.

Finally, we have a forum with moderators that care and will not tolerate trolls, flamers and spammers. That makes for a community you can come back to again and again. It's a nice feeling.

Yup. I've had Oblivion for two years and I've recently gotten into Morrowind, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. The games are fun on their own, but mods more than double the fun. If you learn to use the Construction Set, you can create new additions to the games yourself as well.

I haven't stopped playing Oblivion since it was realised and when I’m not playing Oblivion I’m back to my old obsession, Morrowind!

You've certainly playing the longest!! When they first "realised" they were going to make the game you were already playing it!!! sorry haha had to do that

I started playing about 3 years or so ago and have taken extended breaks from Oblivion, but still play, as a matter of fact, I am playing everyday again now .
Even though it's been out longer than Fallout, I personally think this forum is still more active that that one. I think that says something about it's longevity.

I'm playing Oblivion. The large amount of mods is probably one of the major reasons I still play it.

I play it from time to time but always comeback. I think once TESV(someday) comes out is when many will stop to play that for it and it fixes many of the problems in Oblivion. But still like morrowind some people will stick with the game even when the next chapter comes out.

I've been playing for over three years (March 2007) averaging around 6 or 8 hours a week. That's a huge investment of time, and not something that I can ever completely walk away from.

For better or worse Oblivion is part of my life. My playing hours are slowly diminishing as time goes on, but I firmly believe that I will still be firing up the game for a couple of hours once a week 20 years from now. (and I will also still be awaiting the 1.0 release of FCOM) :whistling:

I might not have it for the PC, but honestly? I don't see myself EVER stop playing Oblivion.

I haven't even played every race, and still, I can do SO MUCH in it. Whether playing the quest line over and over again (it doesn't get old), or doing the side quests with a different twist...Trying different classes, using different weapons, trying things I've never done, the list goes ON. Sure, I can play it, get tired of it, and go off to something else...But usually, I come back to it ^^ Despite it being the console version XD
