You are The Courier

So I've been wondering, alot of people have been saying they'll kill 'The Shooter' because of what s/he did. But am I the only one willing to let it be water under the bridge if it's the right cause. I mean, depending on 'The Shooter's reasons, I'm willing to be friends with them if it's assured it won't lead to anything like this again.

(I'm only leaving out the name in case someone is avoiding spoilers, but it would be odd seeing as trying to avoid spoilers on this forum is like not expecting to take a dump in the toilet)

Yea somebody ruined that one for me, I was pretty pissed but there's nothing I can do about it.
I'm going to immediately kill him when I see him/her, most likely in an extremely gruesome way, maybe I'll chop his/her arm off or but an incendiary bullet straight through his/her abdomen.

Anyone that shoots you in the head, buries you in shallow grave out in the Mojave desert is not your friend :grad:

A valid point. But for some reason, I think they're doing it because of neccessity, not shallow empty-headed greed.

I fully intend to play a self-appointed Sheriff of the Wasteland, trying to get my karma up as high as I possibly can while bringing evil-doers to justice. And I'm still pretty much set on putting a couple of slugs in this guy and burying him in a shallow grave. If whatever I was carrying was so darn dangerous, he could've just took the package and let me go. But no, he didn't. There are only two things that can save him at this point, as far as I'm concerned: He better be so important that killing him would lead to dire negative consequences for all the innocents in New Vegas and surrounding area (in which case I hope I get the option to let him off with a severe beating), or else it better have been revealed to me that the slugs he put in my head made me forget that prior to being buried, I was a completely evil scumbag myself who shot his brother and slept with his wife before I kicked his dog, then I'd consider us to be "square".

I wonder if 'The Shooter' will have an opportunity to betray you a second time, if you allow him to live. :ninja:

Would be funny as hell.

Shooter: So you're not made at me are you?
Courier: No, I understand why you did it. It's all water under the bridge.
Shooter: Awesome. Say I have a little job I need to do out in the desert and I need an extra hand. Want to tag along for old times sake?
Courier: Sure I would love to.
Shooter. Excellent, Oh hey can you grab that shovel for me?
Courier: Okay :bonk:

LOL that would be great, just to see how naive and trusting The Courier can be.

I don't really plan on killing the shooter, on the first run through, I always turn the other cheek. Same with the final battle at the purifier in FO3.

I'll definitely force all the help/money/compensation I can get out of him though before I let him go.

Shooting me in the head isn't free after all. I gotta get something out of it.

I think something similar happened in Alpha Protocol (another Obsidian game).

I ended up going back there and shooting the bastard in the leg.

I like having consequences like that sometimes.

I'm kind and understanding and non-violent as a general rule, willing to give people second chances and see their sides of things.

Until someone shoots me in the head and buries me! Then, they will die. I will make it my mission in life to end them. I will bring all training and weapons to bear for the sole purpose of their destruction. I will, with extreme prejudice, make sure they can never crawl out of their own grave.

But, you know, besides that, I'm all for peace and love.

Death to the shooter on my first play through damn any consequences. On other ones I may let him live to discover other aspects of the story. But on the first one I will let him apologizes and I will turn to walk away, turn back and drop him with a 357.

Yea I'm not quite sure how anyone could spare him as I'm going to kill him most likely before he iterates his last words.

I will find out what happened but most likely he will die. I am of the persuasion that I will not hurt you if you stay out of my way.

I hope Obsidian didn't write him much dialog because everyone is pretty much going to end his life on first sight.

Apparently I am the epitome of neutral opinion.

Unless Benny is just dumbly raiding me, He'll die, however, if I feel it was a valid motive that didnt specifically target me, I'm good.

He shot you in the head, I think he specifically "targeted" you enough.

The way I see it, we just had the misfortune of being THAT ONE he shoots. It could have been any other soul in the world, and you were dealt the short straw. It would have happened either way IMO.

But of course there are so many things he could have done other than shooting you in the head, mezzing, stun nading, trankin'. Idk I don't think I'm going to use any reasoning with this guy/gal, my game characters are usually quite merciless and slow to forgive.
