"You are the one from my Dreams"

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:01 am

No. I don't get dreams of games until I've actually played them. I do remember getting dreams of Worms, Dragon Age and Heroes of Might and Magic 5. That last one was hillarious. We were having a battle in one of my University's auditoriums and I was the commanding hero on the side where the desks were. I first sent in a Cyclops but he got owned. After that sent in my groupmate and he crushed the opposition so bad there were none of them left  Nice work, Alex

Wake up! We're here. Why are you shaking? Are you okay? Wake up!
Stand up. There you go... you were dreaming. What's your name?

I've had a dream of Todd Howard (sic!) showing me a gameplay video (sic!) of Skyrim. The only two things I remember are that there was a horse-after-stagecoach chase (sic!) like in AC2, but through the forest, and the player rode the horse, and that Esbern looked just like John Locke from Lost (sic!). And yes, that was sad to wake up and realize it was just a dream :sadvaultboy:

I think I had a dream about the reveal (before the GI article) where the graphics were practically photo-realistic.

Same night I had a dream that Arcade Fire announced an Australian tour.

They hadn't. :(

I had a dream involving the Elder Scrolls universe, but it wasn't in Skyrim and instead of being in a fantasy medieval setting it was in a futuristic, almost cyberpunk setting. Big cities with towering spires and lots of lights, but everything was powered by magicka and everyone on the streets had various ways of using it for their devices or just for fun (like levitating). Some also had wing-like devices on their backs that allowed them to fly pretty fast, land and retract the wings.

It gets stranger. The dream continued and after a while the place I heard was "North Argonia". I even saw an Argonian, although they were different in many ways from their depictions in any of the series. They had colorful, but smooth skin. They had saurian faces like in the games, and I imagine the smooth skin is probably because of characters in my own mythos. They also seemed the most technologically obsessed and wore outfits with glowy decals. It was difficult to tell gender apart so females probably didn't have bewbs. I didn't see any guns. I would guess that this was in the 10th Era or something.

The cities did not seem to conflict with nature, there was bright blue skies and lots of green vegetation. I remember a field of goldenrod, lots of bugs there too.

That's one of the coolest dreams I've ever heard. Cyberpunk Argonians FTW :gun:

Haven't dreamt about Skyrim yet, but i have thought about what character i will create almost every night for over one week. :D

I hope you manage to survive over the next few months. I think maintaining that level of excitement would be difficult.

Your avatar is enraging me, by the way.

I sometimes have dreams where video games and reality intertwine, like I'm doing normal dream stuff with random [censored] about my friends and my life and whatnot, but experienced through through a video game's interface.
None with Skyrim yet thought.

I heard the trailer choir being sung by guys at work in my dreams, but then it just faded out (I watched the trailer 18 times by then), so I have had nothing awesome full of Vikings, wenches and Dragons yet

Heh, I had a Skyrim-related dream already like two years ago (yeah, that's how long I've thought Skyrim would be the next game). The weird thing was that there were Ayleid ruins there, and I don't think they exist in Skyrim. Well, it's just Oblivion planting silly ideas into my subconscious I guess. I don't remember very much about the dream though, except it being in some sorta autumn-ish forest with orange leaves and stuff. But I knew it was Skyrim.

Heh, check out the gameInformer magazine; I'm looking at an autumn forest in Skyrim right now - yellow-orange leaves and everything.

I did have another Elder Scrolls type dream, but I doubt it was in Skyrim. No idea where it could be, except the draw distance was beyond imagination and in the distance were massive floating islands with entire cities or ruins of cities surrounded by forests on top.

A few nights ago I did have a dream, but I think it was more of a Nehrim dream than Elder Scrolls, all I remember though was two particularly massive dungeons, one from a blue-portal leading to a blue-world (and the Nehrim part being the blue unharvestable Bog Beacons, and the blue stinkhorn called "Ice claw" that you can find in Nehrim) and after beating that a red portal leading to a world populated with strange demons, with furniture that would make sense for a fifty foot giant, and I looked at an item called "Giant's Quill" that weighed 50 pounds and could be used as a sword.

Yup.

I tend to dream about fun moments of gameplay before they happen... which is weird.

When I was younger I dreamed about the gameplay before I knew what game it even was: Jak II. Jumping out of cars and having them crash into walls and explode. It was too real to just be dejavu, which I found freaky.

This one, I haven't had any specific dreams, they were too real to be the actual game. My dreams are like movies, and I'm rarely in them. In the most recent TES themed dream, I was watching, through movie-cinematic quality, a Dunmer woman stealing something from a stall, somebody yelling for the guards, and her running on rooftops. I dunno how I knew she was a Dunmer because she was wearing a cloak, but trust me, she was a Dunmer.

Pfft, like we're gonna be able to do that.

I had a dream a few weeks after Skyrim was announced. I was imagining myself playing it. It look a lot like Oblivion, but everything was icy, and... come to think of it, it actually looked a little bit like the screenshots. Mainly the one where the dragon was flying over the characters head, except without the dragon. I think I was fighting some sort of ice troll.
