You've been thrown into the body of your Courier, where woul

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 1:14 pm

So as I pointed out, I tried this out in the Fallout 3 General Discussion, but wanted to add a special twist. If you were thrown into the body of your Courier, and whatever force did it gave you the condition you would never be killed by the foes there so you'd die of age, but you can commit suicide in the end if you just decide to opt out. Where would you live?

Personally, I'd either pick the Sierra Madre probably. If not there then Zion. But I'd enjoy the Madre more.

(I've put in a poll for those of you who enjoy lurking)

Big Empty!

I like all the places though. Wouldn't like to live in the Divide.

It's a tough choice. Were I Troy Hunter I would probably be holed up in Lucky 38, partying with my friends and of course having it as an asylum for former Enclave personnel.

Were I Julia Hunter, well, it doesn't really matter since I would need years to get over the shock that I'm a woman now :P Though I would perhaps end up living in Novac, for that's where she mainly lives (and so do her companions, thank science for mods).

Both are House characters, BTW. I have indy, NCR and Legion Couriers too but I don't really like them.

Zion, its beautiful. Not much to do there, but beautiful nonetheless. In the Mojave itself, I'd go for the Strip, probably. Or maybe Novac.

To bad. None of those are options, this is a topic about DLC locations. Pick one >: (

I picked the Sierra Madre, but Zion is a close second. I really liked the environment of the divide, but it just doesn't seem like a good place to make a home. I don't really like Big MT that much and although the SINK is a good place to live, I prefer a different style of home. Zion is beautiful, but I found the Sierra Madre to be more beautiful, just in a different way.

Personally, I think I could see myself living in Zion, living among the Sorrows, and laying out looking up at that amazing star lit sky every night ... it would be quite the life I think.

They all svck.
Why do I need to pick a DLC option?

Sierra Madre is full of creeps, it's dark and poisonous.
Zion is full of degenerate tribals and nasty predators.
Big Empty is empty.
The Divide is a mess and nobody lives there.

I would probably go with the Big Empty so I could do science stuff! And just it seems like a great place to live assuming your still on good terms with the Think-tank.

I'd live in Big Mountain. Only place thats really secure and modern. It's also rather removed and private, so I can learn more on the new world I've been thrown into.

Spoiler
...And since my new Courier is a woman...I'll be in my bunk

Now, when you say we can't be killed, can we still go to war and be gravely injured? Because if so then I'd want to continue my war with the Marked Men. Nobody tries to kill me that much then gets away. I remember exactly how I felt after getting that perk from killing 3 named Marked Men. Felt like almost dying at their hands was a thing of the past. And it actually kind of was [Don't know if it was the damage increase or just a morale boost].

If not, then definitely Zion. Live in one [or all] of The Survivalists caves. Just walking that beautiful terrain.

Definitely The Divide. It's just so badass! :D Scrounging armound the old world wreckages, hiding in your house cause you heard a forecast of a killer sand storm heading your way. The house'd be made from suitable things ya find, up high in the side of a mountain then picking off everything that gets remotely close. Devising a way that'd allow quick access to your high up home, steal a few Divide Deathclaw eggs, plant em' at the bottom of your house and stick a "Beware of the Deathclaws sign" there too. Mann, it'd be awesome! :D
I too am a House man!

The Big Empty is second.

The Madre is dead, full of Ghosts, it'd be you. Alone with the Ghost people and the Holograms?!

I'd live in The Sink, obviously. And drink lots of coffee. SOMEONE needs to give the poor Muggy a reason for living.

i really wanna say the Sierra Madre as it is pimp, but to many badmemories there although it is most beautiful place. Zion is beautiful BUT with me and Joshua there, there wouldnt be any peace. Havent doen the divide yet. So id say the Big MT, because its a dangerous playground and i really like to see the NCR/BoS/Legion assassins come for me there...lol thye get tore up by the random in ur face spawns lol. Still deciding if im gonna let the think tanks live but if i could i would let them live and listen to their ramblings day in a day out just to make things interesting. But would definitly get a radio atenna so i could listen to music, prob fix the jukebox to play music again.

Zion.

This is the only locale with semi normal

I mean who would want to live with no prospect of companionship.

Big MT - brains, robots, lobomites, dogs - no thanks
Divide - crazy radiation filled humanoids with flayed skin and deathclaws - no thanks
Sierra Madre - ghosts and holograms - no thanks

I guess Big MT. You've got all those wonderful toys in the Sink and Think Tank. You got plenty of fresh water, and your own interior farm, so you can survive day to day easily. You can teleport to the Mojave and back. You don't need to be lonely, since you've got all your Sink mates to keep you company, but you can also shut them off at any time if you want solitude. There's also a lot of fun stuff to find outside the dome.

There's just one problem...my official Courier never went to Big MT! He investigated one mysterious radio signal and got shanghaied into the Sierra Madre heist, he wasn't about to go check any other weird signals anytime soon. The only other DLC place he went to was the Divide, covering the two most hellish places in the game! Even if I can't die, I can't think of a single place in either location where I wouldn't be besieged by the local wildlife at some point in the night. I may be immortal, but I still need to sleep! I guess I'd take the Divide; there's no shortage of working munitions or ammo just in case you finally feel the need to cap yourself.

I guess I could go with my funny character, who did go to Big MT. It would take a while to adjust to the new female body, but it'd still be a much more pleasant life.

According to the Think Tank, the blue grass absorbs all nutrients from fecal matter...not that that gives you license to excrete on it. :P

Have you heard the saying "The mind is the plaything of the body"? I'm of the opinion that would apply. At least, I hope it would, given I only play female couriers...

I would pick Zion Canyon. There, we have people, plants, things that grow, fresh water, and the obligatory religious nutjobs.

Sierra Madre: No thank you. Too lonely, too hologramy, too zombiey, and way too toxiny.

Big MT: Robo-scorpions, Legendary Bloatflies, no human companionship, and a feeling that you're the primary subject in a study of everything is trying to kill you. [censored] that [censored].

Lonesome Road: Too apocalyptic. I don't want to live running and hiding among the ruins of what deserved to die. The only good bit is that I'd be able to find a weapon with ammunition if I ever decided to face oblivion.

The Big Empty.
Experimenting on making IMPROVED Cazadores, maybe with teleportation capabilities... or maybe the ability to fire their stingers which can then explode and poison the target...
