From a purely practical and self-serving viewpoint, Beth seems to be doing a very good job managing information. So far, they're mostly succeeding at downplaying questionable decisions, and at framing the ones to which they have admitted with superficially compelling talking points, well-designed for mass consumption. They've managed to largely keep the focus on the apparently positive aspects of the game, and by releasing information in a strictly controlled trickle, they've got their fans well hooked. There's a point beyond which the lack of information creates anger instead of desire, but they've yet to cross that point. However, as they run out of positive things to tout and their attempts to proactively excuse the cuts become more desperate and transparent, I expect the flow of information to diminish and the fans to start to get more frustrated. If they time it right though, they'll reach that point close enough to release date that they'll just be able to hunker down and ride it out.
