You Can't Destroy This Room... BECAUSE REASONS!

I swear to hell that this rule turns the remodelling of your vault into an expensive logic puzzle... Sometimes the game refuses to let you delete lifts when it is only connected to one room and the lift below...

I can understand stopping the deletion of rooms or lifts that cut off part of the vault but FFS, when there are multiple ways IT STILL REFUSES TO LET YOU DELETE ROOMS.

Please Bethesda, figure out how to let us delete rooms even if it means cutting off areas... Maybe make it so that the cut off area loses power and will only get power when you reconnect them. Maybe slowly radiate the cut off area. But please, PLEASE let us remodel our vaults how we want.

For example sometimes you add a room and realise it auto joins up and breaks the flow of your vault... so you go to delete it... AND IT WON'T LET YOU. Oh and on that matter, we should be able to chop out subsection of rooms that have auto joined together. Maybe let us split joined rooms up before deleting them.

But ultimately, GET RID OF THE RULE WHERE IF A ROOM IS CONNECTED TO ONE ROOM AND ONE LIFT SHAFT YOU STILL CANNOT DELETE IT.

EDIT: Oh and on top of that... LET US MAKE AS MANY LIVING ROOMS AS POSSIBLE... even though it is still capped at 200 peeps. Why? Well say you want to move a living room... Currently you have to kill off enough dwellers that will let you delete the old living room before it will let you put it where you want. REALLY bad design that. :yuck:

As far as removing rooms just to remodel, what would be better is if we could essentially pause the game, which suspends all room deletion rules, move the rooms into a special inventory and then rearrange the rooms as we want, at say 15% the cost of the rooms in question. If the room cost 500 caps to build, it costs 75 caps to move it into the room storage or relocate it, but room in storage do not cost anything to place (meaning you only get charged once, not twice). I do agree with the being able to chop rooms up though. That seems like a no brainer.

Shelter is addictive but there are sooooooo many things that drive me nuts about this game... things that should have been ironed out in beta. Why can you only sort lists downward. Why is it that you cannot select characters from the room list (which would be great in combat). Why, why, why, why... I could go on for days.

But like Dave says, why the heck can't we pause the game and rearrange the rooms. WHY IS THERE NO PAUSE... FULL... EFFIN... STOP... Why is there no local save/restore (limited to your device to stop copying bought items)? For a RTS you really are limited in the number of management functions considering you are supposed to be the overseer. Why can't you select a room and press a button which says "Heal all" which tells you how many stimpacks it will need and you then click Yes or No. No more trying in vain to select the right character who has... ooops... they are dead... again... dammit!
