As most people have said, I'm most anxious to see the races. When Skyrim was announced, I was hoping that Bethesda would do everything they could to make the races look like themselves, and not have dark/high/wood elves all come out looking the same again. As soon as they confirmed that they'd all look very unique and appropriate, I've been DYING to see how dark elves came out. My first and favorite character is always my dark elf princess, so I'm really hoping I can make her look gorgeous without needing some mods this time around. XD
Honestly in Oblivion, my first character looked like her face had been stepped on, it's disgusting. I ended up calling her MAW cause when you saw her you were just like... MAW!!!!!
I also really really really hope they make Bosmer into the ferocious beasts that the lore talks about. They've always been fabled as being an incredibly feral, violent people when provoked... yet all we ever see of Bosmer are these little dorks walking around cheerfully, complaining about some scary mudcrab they saw the other day. I mean what?!?!?
I think it's a safe bet that Khajiit and Argonians will look great and very unique. They always do. I'm hoping Orcs go that route too, though. I really don't think an orc should look like a green imperial with flaps instead of lips and different ears. That's just silly. I'm hoping beth takes them down more of the "intelligent monster" route that Argonians and Khajiit have, where they don't look human AT ALL but they still look like they belong in a bar or fighting along side you, rather than being something to kill.
I think dark and high elves are actually the real challenge, because those two races encompass so much. Dark elves are notorious for being stealthy and sinister, sure, but they've got their fair share of proud warriors, brilliant mages, and cover just about every other facet of the Elder Scrolls Universe. How do you make them look unique when they're just so diverse? O_o And more importantly, how do you fundamentally separate them from someone like the high elves or even the imperials, who also run the gamut from beggars to kings?
So yeah, I'm just so insanely excited to see what they come up with. If I were to hazard a guess I'd say dark elves will look, well, "dark"/mysterious/brooding/sinister, whereas high elves will look almost alien and incredibly aloof. Imperials will be, y'know. Imperials. : P
