You can wear clothing over armour?

Post » Fri Jan 14, 2011 4:50 pm

From looking at the trailer, you can wear clothing on top of your armour. Looking at the screenshot (below) from the trailer itself, the guy appears to be wearing chainmail underneath his clothing. I hope you can do this, im not 100% sure thats chainmail but it does look like it. ALSO NIRNOOT are back :P

EDIT: The arm looks a bit like chainmail, but even if it isnt. It looks to me like he is wearing at least 2 layers of clothing. Maybe layered clothing is in

Doesn't look like chainmail IMO, or even close, but it does look liked layered clothing. I hope you are right about that.

Looks to me just like the style of clothing.

If anything, I am hoping it will be the opposite - armour over clothing.

I think it's part of one clothing piece.

That is most definitely not chainmail. Looks nothing like it. Just an average shirt.

Good god. I'm going to have to start requesting Bethesda to put ALPHAAAAA as a Dragon Shout.

Just looks like a tunic to me though.

I believe there was a quote from Pete on his twitter when somebody asked him if screens were of an old or alpha build. He said something along the lines of "Why would we post screens of an old build, or something that wasn't even finished yet?"

Just because it's not finished yet doesn't mean EVERYTHING that we are seeing is going to be changed. I'm sure a lot of the textures in the trailer are final.

Who knows, you could be able to wear clothing over armor or vice versa. It could also be the artwork of the armor too. Wouldn't matter to me if they had that option.

very likely just part of the clothing and not armor itself. theres probably going to be alot of clothing and robes that are designed to look tougher since alot of robes in OB were fairly bland. and we already know that they are trying as much as possible to make up for OB being generic.

It would make sense to wear clothing over armor specially in the cold weather of Skyrim. I wish the developers added overcoats and that sort of stuff to wear over your armor.

Well in reality, it is smarter to wear armour over clothing so that it doesn't pinch you etc... that is how it was in medieval times and such. I'd like to be able to wear clothes, or atleast robes, over my armour though, like Morrowind (from what I've heard)

It Does Indeed looks like 2 layers, 1 cloth 2cd armor.

At shadowbeast 368.
IF the trailer is really finals, then Skyrim will looks very average.
Dragon is average, lot of low res textures, lightning is very average, water is absolutely poor, shadow are regular etc.
But its not a problem... cause modders wil kick in.

I really wouldn t mind a bit but i think gameplay wil also be regular and RPG will be subpar.

While I did like that in Oblivion I could enchant clothing to be as good as any armor in the game, the "reality"of that was a bit far fetched. So what I would like to see is a better enchanting system that does not make enchanted clothing as good as armor. Seriously, once I found out that I could go kill Shady Sam, take his clothes and enchant them I never bothered with any other armor in the game except the Crusader gear from Knights of the Nine.

been able to wear cloths over armour or visa-versa would be nice but would mean more items that could be enchanted so i would agree that they should put a limit to the strength of the enchantments u can put on cloths... begin able to but a shield enchantment on a pair of slacks n have a better armour rating then steel just doesnt make sence...

aside not sure that's chainmail underneath put there is some armour underneath...

This definitely looks like some sort of leather armor. My guess is if anything we'll be able to wear clothes UNDER armor.

Agreed.

On a sidenote, I'd like to see separate pieces of the same category of armor again. Like left pauldron, right pauldron, left gauntlet, right gauntlet, etc. Not just "Gauntlets". I liked looking like a patchwork murderer in Morrowind, lol.
