Do you clean your room/house?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 4:04 am

I wonder how often and how well most other people clean and maintain their spaces. Like cleaning your room, or organizing things on your desk, or dusting out the house. I just got done cleaning my barracks room from top to bottom, organized all of the things on my desk, folded all of my clothes, and then mopped the tiles and hosed down the bathroom with bleach. And you know what? I feel pretty good. It's like some sort of balance has been restored to the area once again, and all things are right. I often get this feeling before and after cleaning. It's very positive on the mood to live somewhere clean.

So how about you? Do you clean often? Or do you like the organized chaos of leaving things where they lie? Maybe you only pick up your room after you parents tell you to, or maybe you're the parents always telling their kids to pick up their rooms.

Hahaha

Honestly, I'm a bit of both. I only clean my room once my parents tell me to, but indeed, I feel a lot better afterwards.

It's a lot easier to relax when there's not crap all over your room.

Once when the piles become too much or the cat knocks everything over.

I completely dusted down my room about... two weeks ago? Got all those places you normally avoid (venetian blinds are evil!).

I give my room a light cleaning at least once a month (just clean the desk and push stuff in their general places) and a good cleaning every couple of months. My room can get quite messy at times between major cleans.

I manage to effectively combine cleanliness and laziness. I'll clean up the "dirty" stuff like dust and cat hair diligently, while deciding that the best place for all my clothes is the floor. I just vacuum the floor they're piled on.

I like my living spaces to be clean, completely organized, and minimal in the way of objects occupying its space.

What are my living spaces actually like? Pretty clean, pretty organized, and pretty minimal in the way of little clutter.

I clean my room every now and then, usually when it gets so messy that it looks bad. I will always be sure to clean my room up if I have guests coming over, it's very embarrassing to have a messy living space. I've been told numerous times by my female friends, that I'm the only boy they know that cleans so much .

I tidy my room, but I don't clean it. My mum washes the floor and dusts off the, erm, dust.

Nope, we have a maid to do all the cleaning. I put things in order whenever I feel the need, but that seldom ever happens. :P

I hoover and dust my room about once every two months. Clean the bathroom and do the washing at about the same rate, but then I'm not the only one in the house that does the cleaning. :P

If we're just talking about tidying the place, I don't need to do that since I always put things back where I got them from.

I keep my living space pretty clean in general, so if I ever need to tidy up, it's usually just making my bed, or putting away stuff.

How often changes for me. I need to be in a mood where I am like "You know what. I feel like cleaning".

Usually I will just quickly organize stuff so I'm not tripping over wires or knocking over stuff on my desk

at one place there was really just one bedroom but an open space just after entering through the front door (forget what those are called) but basicly people had to walk through my room to get into the house, which was the worst. but the point was that I did not care if my room was clean or not but my mom ended up cleaning it for me because she did not want people walking through a mess and I sure wasn't going to clean it up.

now... well my room is messy now, mostly just cloths because I haven't put laundry away. but most of my stuff is packed away.

Once a week I do the floors, the bathroom and replace the cat litter.

A clean house is a good thing.

House, not so much as I don't spend much time outside my room. And I have always been a generally clean/neat person so my room reflects that. The only thing people may call 'dirty' is the pile of clothes on the floor, but that's just because I find it easier to grab clothes from there in the morning that opening my closet and then opening the dresser.

According to all my friends, they are amazed my room is so clean considering that I'm a guy, and they think all guys live like slobs.

My son is the natural cross between http://cache2.artprintimages.com/p/LRG/8/830/452Y000Z/the-simpsons--bart.jpg and http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_k64p1q0TlLE/SwgNspUnzeI/AAAAAAAAAQI/yxZ-yNHEqxM/s1600/PIGpencsh.jpg, so yes, I clean.

I have to clean my room. It's not a rule in the house I am forced to follow, I just need a clean room. I literally can't sleep well if my room is a junk pile. If it is, I will get up at night and not go to bed until it is clean enough for me. I actually like cleaning. When I am stressed out, my dorm room became super clean, and when I am at home visiting or bumming off my parents, I keep my room clean. I'm not one to make sure everything is dusted properly or a germ freak like that, I just like things looking clean. I get it from my mom. She loves a clean house. My parent's house is honestly the cleanest family owned house I have been in. Sometimes when going over to someone else's house, I get disgusted...

Nope. I'm the only one here and I don;t care. I haven't had anyone else in for over 15 years.

I'll declutter an area, on occassion, but cleaning is a foriegn concept.

I dust it every week or so. I have a ton of electronics in here, so dust is the devil. (I mean a lot of electronics, within a 3 foot radius there are 2 servers, 2 desktops, 2 laptops, an Xbox360, a DVR, and my TV) I keep my room very clean, clothes always go away, all trash is dumped 2 times a week.

I would probably do the same if I had my own house, clean it up, but my room or another designated room would be my messy room that I can hang out and do my normal stuff and not worry about cleaning up after my self.
