Do you collect?

Post » Tue Sep 14, 2010 8:15 am

So does anyone make a habit of collecting things? could be anything completely random. In morrowind i began keeping all the ash statues i found just because they looked awesome lol. And in oblivion i had this display of all the weapons i'd collected. Anyone else do this?

In oblivion and Morrowind, I usually collected particularly nice enchanted armor and weapons, along with any armor or weapon sets that were very rare. In morrowind, I also collected books, and all the dwemer documents I could find. IN oblivion, I was less interested in collecting books because of the usual issues, then modders made those book stacking mods.

I collect books in Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion.

I also collect Dwemer coins in Morrowind, but that's more like reserve gold that I can use if I ever become broke (as if that's ever going to happen).

In Oblivion I collected virtually everything... It was enormously time consuming.

In Morrowind I religiously collected lighting objects like candles and filled my solstheim home with them, that and moon sugar. Oblivion.. Candles.

In Oblivion I would collect unique weapons and items and artifacts and dispaly them in My Skingrad House.

I collect all unique weapons, as well as Dremora weapons. It is very difficult, though, as they weigh 40-60+ feathers.

Oblivion-books, unique items, alchemy ingredients/food, alchohol(don't use it, just collect it), skooma(don't use it, just collect it), Ayleid statues, Shadowbanish wine(goes under alchohol, but it's the most specific and rare type that I can think of), Welkynd stones, Varla stones, soul gems, swords

This may be a bit off-topic, but your barrel-filling comment reminded of something I once did in Fallout 3 when I was bored. I had a lot of 5mm rounds(~8000) in Fallout 3 once and I dropped as many as I could one at a time at the top of the Washington Monument. Each one comes out as a bulky case, and when I was done(didn't drop nearly all ~8000, but I dropped quite a few), the entire top level of the Washington Monument was so full that it was overflowing. I also did the same thing in the Washington Monument's elevator, and that turned out to be quite the claustrophobic, and hilarious, experience.

Speaking of claustrophobia...

Reminds me of the time I filled my house with watermelons in Oblivion (via console commands) to simulate my character's nightmare. Turns out that now he has a crippling fear of watermelons... These things happen.

I once filled the basemant of the Bruma house with nightshade. But before that I duplicated scrolls so I could duplicate more nightshade. My console almost blew up.

P.S. NEVER do that with Sigil Stones! :nuke:

In Morrowind I collected and placed skulls around my home (wherever I marked).

In Oblivion I just collect everything, I never sold anything unless it was enchanted armor I don't need. I always made sure to have one unenchanted version of every armor and weapon and a whole bunch of enchanted items, I liked collecting Nirnroot, I collected calipers for some reason as well... I have 378 calipers on my most recent character.

In Fallout 3 (off topic I know) I collected body parts from flesh bags and made bodies in my home out of two legs, two arms, a torso, four organs, and a skull.

CALIPERS FTW. What are calipers anyway.

I did that with iron claymores, and then with sigil stones. I also duplicated 20k grand soul gems in Bruma. It lags really bad, but it looks like a fountain, lol. Inside of a house, I could literally not see anything, and it lagged so bad that it took me an hour to walk about five feet and turn about ninety degrees.

Have you ever loaded up Midas magic and summoned a watermelon Atronach, lol.

I was never able to find all the nirn root in the game. And I dont think it should have been added as a quest cause I was never able to remove it from my journal, but just a side note instead.

Sigil Stones I get from random Oblivion gates (I never fully complete the MQ, those sigils stones are so damned useful). Varla Stones, Weklynd Stones, Poisons, quest rewards, Weapon Replicas, etc. All that stuff I keep in Battlethorne Castle. When I play evil characters I usually collect Human bones, Nightshade, Bonemeal, Ectoplasm, Hearts (and other assorted organs) and all my booty in the house at the Imperial Cit (that's assuming of course I'm not the Grey Fox, of course, in which case the Thieves Guild is where I stash everything and that takes a long time to transfer it all).

my bosmer forester collected any and all wine (but not that nasty ale and mead garbage) for his late night revelries in the woods. should anyone stumble upon him during this debauchery a quick custom spell of invisibility and summoning of woodland critters distracted the intruders. of course that's provided he's not too inebriated. but seriously....he's nearly an alcoholic. Then again this is the same man that collects random fauna just because he likes plants. his favorite is the nirnroot of course, though his other favorite plants to collect are tabacco and primrose leaves, due to their rarity. his collection is nearing 600 now.
