If you could choose a new race for Bethesda to make?

Like others, my vote would be for the Dwemer--pending an explanation or possible return.

They already have 10 so it would be hard to add something that would also add something to the game and still be Lore friendly.

I like the daedra idea as long as it wasn't too powerful and could somehow exist in the game world without every NPC trying to kill it.

Four mer races

Four human races

Two beast races, so maybe another beast race. We got mammal and reptile so maybe an insect race? Large walking bug-men? I would say a bird man but since we can not fly in Skyrim it would seem pointless.

there's flightless birds as well
would make sense they can't fly if somehow they evolved into humanoid creatures
quite like the idea actually

not very lore friendly though
but perhaps they come from another continent on nirn or something

Tang Mo, the monkey people from Akavir. Akaviri races are Asian in nature, so that void would be filled.

cmon, just answer the question don't be such a jerk about it.

I doubt Tale was scoffing at you if that's how it came across. I am also befuddled as to what exactly you mean with 'make' here.
A race in lore that has not yet been made playable in the games or a completely new race outside of TES lore.

In case of the former I would say http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Tsaesci.

If we are taking new to make, would say gnomes has a off-shot of the dwarf race. Have some ideas of that could work given all the odd things the dwarf did before they vanished/died.

And sorry for not using proper terms, :P

something with horns
flightless birds word fit with beast race
we have cat men y havent weve seen dogmen
an amphibian race nah look to much argonians even though the ar lizards
but if we go extreme since dragons are gone mostly put in some dragon people u could give them horns and their 1ce a day power could be flame breath 4 men ice 4 women the passive power could be absorb helath from their element and/or take more frome opposite

In case of the former I would say Tsaesci.

They have a lower-half snake body, so from a developer's point of view, it would be too much extra work.

In case you missed my post dwarves in TES lore aren't a short dumpy race like in most fantasy worlds. They are elves.

Why I said an off-shoot of it. Given all the wierd [censored] they did you couldn't seem them haven mutated some of themselves?

Or experimented on others.

Very true and I do not expect to see them from a stock-game as development time is far too limited and equally precious to include a race with a completely separate set of animations.

I do expect to see at least some race from Akavir (the Tsaesci being the race that has had the most influence on the rest of the world of Mundus) as lore-wise they would be perhaps the most interesting races to explore.
Mayhap some corners could be cut (e.g. Morrowind beast race) and have it shipped as a DLC/Expansion where time is not of the same amount of essence.

Bear in mind that this is mere conjecture and surmisal.
