I only did one Yes-Man playthrough, and soley because I wanted the trophy, and I absolutely hated it. His overly positive attitude and saying how certian things would be 'fun' or 'neat' almost felt like I was being condescended to like I was some brain dead child. I wish I could have just permanently shut Yes Man's annoying voice and face down for good. e_e

He was programmed to act in that way, and yet there's more than one instance where he's being pretty sarcastic about it.
This why I like him so much, there's still a personality and an own sense of humour behind that forced on overly kindness.
Also, Foley's voice is just awesome.

So yeah, Yes Man as a companion would be pretty neat

Alternatively, I'd also go with Red Lucy, Ranger Ghost, Diane, Melissa, or Dala.

Yeah, he is down on the launch pad in the game with the others as they take off.
That's what I find weird about it, it doesn't fit in.
I mean, he doesn't believe in Jason, he thinks Jason is a nut.
What could possibly change his mind to want to go with them at the last second?

So yeah, he 'apparently' goes with them, but I think it's incoherent and would rewrite it.

Oh yeah, and I'd like Dead Sea as a companion.

You know what's weird about the bright followers? Don't they come back to Novac at the end? But they don't explain it. Like, what the hell happened? did they go to another planet? did they crash land somewhere?

I mean, they were supposed to go to Utopia and they wound up just coming back to the Wasteland!

Vulpes, Siri, Lucius, Lanius, you see where I'm going with this.

There should have been a Legion allied follower, and I don't consider a dying dog to be a Legion allied follower.

EDIT: It also would have been really awesome to have Victor as a follower, he sort of plays that role at the beginning of the game, I understand why he wasn't made a full follower, but the option to have him would have been nice.

Also, Ulysses was intended to be a Legion companion, but his story got a massive overhaul.

It would have been nice to get a companion for each main faction after a certain point. (If they were alive)

1. Idependant (Yes Man or Benny)
2. House (Victor)
3. Legion (Vulpes)
4. NCR (Ranger Ghost? or maybe just leave it as Boone)

As to who would I want? Snuggles or just any Pup Mole Rat.

The Legion is always saying "Ave amicus" and I'm always like "Back at ya!".
The troopers though, "Patrolling the mojave almost make you wish for a nuclear winter." Hardly 'Friend' material.
But if I had to choose, it would be Ulysses. He is very interesting to talk to and a fellow courier to boot.
