No VATS, or perks as implemented in Fallout, those are a staple of that series, it should stay that way. hardcoe mode, stats based dialogue and faction relations would be very welcome from a roleplaying point of view, all obviously implemented according to TES5 game play and lore.

I want the feeling of Fallout 3's exploration. I think it's Bethesda's finest explorational gameworld, yet. Something about the modern-styled urban aspect felt genuinely diverse and ruined, yet few "ruins" in Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, or Oblivion feel like actual ruins where people lived, and I've found more unique items, unique features, and backstories while exploring in Fallout 3's gameworld than I have in any Elder Scrolls' gameworld. Arena's and Daggerfall's ruins were just mazes, Morrowind's Dwemer ruins felt like factories, and Oblivion's Ayleid ruins felt like catacombs, in my opinion.

A big fat invisible wall...between the Fallout universe and the TES universe. :P

A new destruction effect, 'Radiation Damage'. Or Maybe 'Magnetic Manipulation' to pull the metallic gear off your foes.
It makes sense that if you can wield temperature-changing effects (fire-frost) and electricity, they will eventually discover stranger things that destruction magic can do

I'd concur with this. I'd like the ruins in Skyrim to feel more like they were places where people once lived or worked, like they were places which once served a purpose. It would be an added bonus for the non-quest related dungeons to have some backstories of their own that could be uncovered through notes or old journals. Fallout 3 was really good in that regard, and I hope Bethesda will apply the same principle to Skyrim. Give me a reason to explore those random caves and ruins aside from amassing more loot.

I'd also like to request, specifically, a giant section of an Elder Scrolls game's map being one big ruin, akin to D.C. in Fallout 3. I just think it would cool to see a giant, ruined, and ancient city in a fantasy setting. Kvatch actually popped into my mind as a small-scale example. I want something like that, only much larger, not on fire, and with much more to see in it (including dungeons).

It would be cooler as an underground ruin!

For once, I agree with you :D

I can come up with a lore explanation, too. Kvatch was destroyed by the Oblivion invasion and so was Ald'ruhn. Assuming Skyrim takes place at least a few years after Oblivion (may be 40-50 based on the book or 200 based on the rumor that was supposedly leaked with the book), seeing a few Oblivion gates in said ruined city would explain it. Elder Scrolls style post-apocalyptic exploration of this large area would provide a great contrast to the still-functioning rest of the gameworld, in my opinion, and if Oblivion gates wouldn't explain the giant ruin well enough, we can assume the Nords were having a civil war from the trailer, and civil war can account for the ruin.

To see limbs fly and people disintegrate. Seriously, I want to cut an arm off with a well-timed power-attack, or cast a high-level fire-ball and search the ash-pile for loot.

If I have a sword in a a game, and cannot decapitate my enemy, or see the tip physically pierce their flesh, that breaks immersion. I don't want to "hit" my opponent with a blade, I want to cut, stab, and chop.

Even Fallout 3 didn't have the visible damage, other than crippled limbs, but even its ridiculous limb-removal was a step in the right direction, albeit a clumsy one.

EDIT: Spelling

I want nothing from Fallout. TES is it's own set of games and they should have their own unique qualities, nothing from Fallout.

Dismemberment, real conversation and hardcoe mode, just the things that are improvements on the Bethesda style RPG in general and aren't all that specific to the Fallout games.

Fo3: Similar details and tableau. And possibly a lore correct Moira

FoNV: The ease with which the game accommodates many differing character builds. And possibly Veronica.... She'd love the dresses.

hardcoe mode, but actually make it a challenge (I have never been in danger of dying of dehydration in New Vegas yet)

Locational damage if I hit a bandit in the leg with my fire ball/arrow it would be good to seem him limping, Allthough this isn't exclusive to Fallout it's been in most shooters for a while. it would also be more immersive if your character got injured to.

VATS, well not really VATS but some kind of pause/slow down time effect for characters who have high skill levels in archery/spell casting allowing them to skillfully place their shots.

Companions, who aren't annoying and useless, and can carry items.

The ability to make weapons/armour etc from items you find in the environment.

The ability to cook food and improve it's restorative powers

Dismemberment / Gore, I want enemies that have been hit in the face with a daedric warhammer to look like they have been hit in the face with a daedric warhammer

Each dungeon to have a unique feel and back story.

The ability to set traps.

Merchants having a set amount of money rather a set amount they are willing to spend.

Oh and the MERV!

THIS. [censored].

also why are so many people saying hardcoe mode? it was kind of a neat idea but it was horribly executed, boring as hell and amounted to little more than annoying micromanagement.

i would like the ability to drink from bodies of water, though, that was neat.

I think there are a ton of good ideas they should bring in from Fallout, and I'm pretty sure 95% of the people saying they don't want anything from Fallout would actually love all of them as long as they can pretend it's not from Fallout. Fallout surpassed Oblivion in lots of ways; better dialogue, better leveling, better skill system, crafting, companions, hardcoe mode, different ways to solve quests for different skill sets, locational damage, disarming, better traps, better grouping and cooperation of enemies, etc.

The leveling system.

Say what you will about XP based games, but I've always found TES relied too much on plotting out your skill gains to get those precious x5s. It kills my sense of immersion far, far more than any other problem the series might have.

Alternatively, different routes or paths that open up through dialogue when you have a skill at a particular level.

100% true. It's not as fun as it should be because I have to let a mudcrab hit me for 1/2 hour, at least, each level to get the skill gains. Or worse, cast one spell on self, trying not to do anything else for fear of leveling too soon.
