If you could have your own plane of Oblivion...

Post » Fri Jun 21, 2013 8:40 am

How would it be? Let's ignore all the boundaries and give yourself the power of a Daedric Prince. What would be your ideal plane of Oblivion?

Mine would probably have a mix of typical fantasy, split into sections for each of my favourite fantasy worlds (Middle Earth, Tamriel, Midkemia, Kelewan and Westeros) and half futuristic sci-fi. I'd have a castle split down the middle with half of it a sentient tree like the Bosmer city and the other a metallic fortress.

As for lesser Daedra, I'd make humanoids on both sides to war with each other. (You may think that's inhumane, but they're immortal, right?) The fun of watching wars where nobody is actually at any real harm, and the clashing of fantasy and the future. I'd also make spore-like creatures for the hell of it. :P

I seriously lack an imagination, and I hope you guys do better than me. :P

Probably split it in 4 parts. One is perfect, the other without magic and is like our world, one is full of suffering and war, and the fourth is basically a twisted realm where laws don't apply. There would be battles once every 2 years, and once you die, you go to a realm based on what you did in your past life. You fight for that realm. If your realm wins, you have 1 wish. This would happen in a sort of pie-chart below a majestic city where I would watch. Also, I'd probably become a giant and destroy everything once in a while if they become greedy, or masquerade as one of the people.

I would make a place like Morrowind, filled with the exotic fauna and creatures that roam Morrowind as well as the various landscapes and all the buildings would be in the style of Mushroom towers, a great mushroom city of knowledge.

I'd call it Plain. My sphere would be No One Really Cares.

Would you be able to hit all of those creatures though, should you choose to attack them?

My realm would be filled with an all mighty high definition television screen that would have a myriad of programs on it. These programs would mostly be subliminal. On the all mighty screen would be happy plays, sad plays, and even hourly reports on what's going on in my realm. Surrounding this giant screen would be a multitude of never ending seats. Seats of all kinds. Cozy recliners, sofas, and even dull hard wooden chairs. The audience would be enthralled by this mighty screen and will let it control nearly every aspect of their lives. I would place at the side of each chair a tablet like mini television. It would be like the giant screen at the center of my realm, except with the extra ability to access a type of mind hive like database. These miniature screens at the side of every chair would ensure that if for some reason, and God forbid it should happen, one of my enthralled sheep were to turn their gaze away from the giant screen in the middle of my realm and witness the horror that is his golden chained slavery, he would find this tablet, and immediately forget the tragedy of his reality among the wonders of God TV.

Nirn, but entirely deprived of civilization where the cities and towns are colossal forests Think Valenwood on steroids. Living in the realm would be all matters of sacred beasts and monsters. The world as whole would resemble the Emerald Dream or the Feywild.

A hellish place filled with Nords for my Dremora to relentlessly slaughter, again and again and again and again and again. They want to live a primitive selfish life of savagery and battle, I'll give it to them in death and beyond. Sovngarde is for milk-drinkers.

Every other week will have special Tuesdays where I have a bunch of Nords be feasted on by Lurkers and Daedroths. Safari Thursday will feature Nords being set on upon by Clannfear, Hunger, Seekers, and Scamps.

I'd expect you to make a Falmer paradise where every Falmer soul is changed to what the falmer use to look like.

A replica of Tamriel, but with the aesthetics of the painting world in Oblivion.

The Heavenly Queerness, where the jungle is endless and they make towers out of a dactyls and certain spectra of light. It'd be crazy, and the people wouldn't even have potato faces or have to ride swans to work.

Vaermina, is that you?

So, basically Mankar being right?

As for my realm, a wasteland filled with shrines to every single being ever worshipped in the Aurbis, placed in patterns that make the relationships of all the Ada to each other apparent, because

(1) it would be fun to usurp the role of the God of We Have Too Many Gods, mantling him in the Arcturian way to create the God of There Are Too Many Gods.

(2) such a place would illustrate the true nature of the Aurbis, causing instant zero-sum. I could be the god of Don`t Look At It. *goes on dreaming*

If I had my own plane of oblivion, I'd make the landmass a clash of tons of album covers from my favourite Metal bands. The landscape would range from futuristic cities to old school medieval style towns to post apocalyptic ruins to constantly flaming hell and so on.

I'd have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_the_Head and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vic_Rattleheaddukes of their own countries with massive armies. They would constantly wage war against eachother with their army of Metal figures derived from songs, such as the Painkiller (Wings of steel and deadly wheels), The Nightcrawler (Beware the beast in black), The Hell Patrol (death dealers and storm bringers), The Sentinel (across his chest, scabbards rest, rows of throwing knives) and many more.

Wars would be waged on a daily basis, and among all the chaos and wreckage old school heavy metal would be blaring louder then the sounds of battle to be heard by all. You would hear the insane guitar solos of Dimebag Darrel, Joe Satriani, Dave Mustaine, John Petrucci and countless more on top of the insane vocal screams of Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio, Jon Oliva, Ian Gillan and so on and so forth.

The weather will change constantly, in an instant going from orange tinted skies filled with swirling black clouds to a burning sky sending forth pounding hail accompanied by lightning bolts and fireballs targeted at random people, with tornadoes miles wide wreaking havoc upon the bloody battlefields below.

Soldiers will die constantly, only to be resurrected in the waters of oblivion to continue their eternal battle against their foes. Every once in awhile, when I get bored of sitting upon my throne, I shall manifest myself in the form of a humanoid and join the constant war below, killing any foe that stands in my way, regardless of which side they are on. My form could range from a scrawny old human mage with a long beard, casting spells of destruction to a giant armored demon with a humongous claymore, decapitating foes and severing bodies in half with ease while drinking blood from the freshly ripped out hearts of my enemies.

People who venture into my plain of oblivion will never make it out to tell of the story. (hence why there is no lore on my realm of oblivion, hahaha)

More like Imperial Propagandists Curtas Cuhlmin and Mihail Kerchak, but sure, the point would be everything old is right again.

I think I'll keep Shivering Isles; tis pretty perfect - surrounded by Aureals (half nakid golden saints chicks), and Mazkens (half nikid dark seducers chicks) who are dying to please me - literally; and the cheese; and that lousy dancer who is so bad that makes me laugh so hard without fail.

Ah, and I have Haskill to pickup after me as well and he absolutely loves it despite the complains.

EDIT:

All the crazy artists, drugs and ShEX - ah tis just like Hollywood.

No wonder TESO couldn't find real Alinor--you stole it! (Can we play in your sandbox instead, then?)

Ah, to imagine my own world...

I would rule the land of pointless goals, where nothing ever changes no matter how much you achieve. There will be lots of Sisyphus-like people trying to do things, only to find when and if they succeed that it didn't change a thing about their existence. Mortal worshipers would be expected to do pointless tasks in my name until they finally understand that any goal they have in life means absolutely nothing, considering that there will always be something else that they want to achieve once they reach their initial goal--a never-ending cycle of people inventing things to do next, ever striving until they die and everything they've ever accomplished becomes forgotten and moot. If my worshipers realize the pointlessness of their actions before they die, though, I will happily reward them with a carefree afterlife full of ease and luxury, with a prime view of the Sisyphus people below so that they can amuse themselves with the age-old game of "point and laugh." Those who worship me and insist on fulfilling all the pointless tasks I give them, laboring to their death under the impression that I for some reason give a damn about their mortal successes and failures, will end up becoming more of those afore-mentioned Sisyphus-like people striving for a pointless goal, as a lesson to those who happen to pass through that they would be much better off by accepting the pointlessness of the cycle.

But then again, who knows if I've really discovered the secret of existence, or if I'm just trying to drag you off the true path?
