Wait.....Caesar based his Legion on the Roman Empire????? HOW DARE YOU!!!! YOU ARE MARKED FOR DEATH!!
I'd pick House, he would make a decent "teacher", give me caps, a good talking buddy in the future, and he saved my life, ya know?
*is somehow able to type a reply even though he's being lashed to a cross at this very moment*
Ow... Anyway, yeah he took certain aspects of the Roman Empire but left out the ones that really made it great. For instance, women in Roman society did lack certain rights but they weren't nearly as oppressed as they are in Caesar's Legion. Women could conduct business as well as read and generally were treated far better by their male counterparts. Also Caesar kinda' messed up when he modeled the Legion after the Mid-Late Roman Empire as that's around the time it started to decline.
This was mainly due to the fact that pretty much any general who'd earned the loyalty and respect of his men (as well as a decent reputation through victory in battle) could march on Rome and kick the current emperor out. This destablized the government dramatically as the people didn't know who their leader would be next year. The Legion left to it's own devices would inevitably enter Civil War after Caesar dies (Lanius versus Lucius would be my guess, with Vuples siding with Lucius).
Personally I'd of done it differently, staying more true to the actual Caesar's plan. Keep the facade of a Republic with all the bells in whistles of the old Republic (the various ranks such as Consul, Praetor and the like) to give the people the illusion they had a say in how things went as well as keeping the Senate in tact, whilst proclaiming myself "Dictator for Life", as he did. Obviously it didn't work out great for Caesar as he got stabbed some 37 times, but judging by how subservient everyone in the "Legion" is, and the fact that they lack a general knowledge of how the actual Caesar of their timeline met his end, I think it would work it ideally.
