I'd like to know at what skill levels the skills start and how useless they would be at that level. Considering we don't have classes and presumably don't select any skills to start higher except racial skills. And what if all skills start at a default of 25, what good is it to have 24 levels below that anyway.

I expect it will be similar to FO3 where you tag 3 or so skills in the beginning to get a +10 to those skills.

I'd sure like to know how weapon-blocking is going to tie in with skills, especially with dual-wielding. In Oblivion, both weapon-blocking and shield-blocking were governed by the same skill ("Block"). As a result, you had learn how to use a shield if you wished not to use it - quite the paradox  .

As allways, it'll be racial benefits. Altmers will start with some magic skills at 15 and all other skills at 5, Orcs with some combat skills at 15 and so on. Add to that the specialization between Combat/Magic/Stealth which will boost a select 6 skills (18 divided by 3) by another 10.

Where's the bathroom? My character has been pinching one off for ages now!

Seriously though, I'm probably most excited about seeing the new combat system in action.

What I personally would like to see is an improved traveling option.

Fast Travel is option free, I know...but what makes games boring (or something along those lines) is the traveling fact.
In AS2 that problem is figured out, in Oblivion Beth decided to add the FT option, but that didn't solve the problem. Ppl who want to use it, do not explore at all, and just go from one place to the other, which decreases the enjoyment in the game. On the other hand if you travel by foot/horse, it still will make you a xp lag and so on. Even if you have a hard core PC (which most ppl do these days) you still do not travel fast enough, and have to unmount every time you get attacked, these problems are fixed further on, as you progress, but you have to play for about 10 to 15h in order for faster horses, and spells that would help you in that regard. :)

I thought of starting a poll on this matter, but I think a simple post will do the trick as well ;)

Later

Agreed. I want an improved battle scenario, than just a monotonous hack and slash sequence.

what happens if the world is 852659165 cubic km? are you realy going to walk to the nearest town everytime you finish a quest?

people should shut up about fast travel- especialy since they dont know how big the world is! (and its optional)

The problem was that there were no transportation systems in oblivion like the silt striders in morrowind. So fast travel really wasn't optional.

Well, besides chainsaws...

I'd really like to see the ability for coordinated quests/hunts. Like you and a couple of NPC's go on...maybe an assassination quest, like mentioned in the GI article about random quests generating. You and a few of your guild brothers would coordinate a plot and execute that plan. I think that would be cool.
I'm also hoping to see huge glaciers, and being able to explore those nasty vast reaches.

I guess I'd like to see what everyone else does, and what everyone has already said.

Except for that ol' Pause>Fast Travel feature. Frost Striders ftw?

Shallow thing: How sliders for Player Creation work and if player character looks better. =)

Less shallow thing: Any information about the Factions/guilds.
