If you could replace any race, what would it be?

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with none. The ten they gave us are great. If they add more in the future, that's one thing, but not necessary. I don't get how people cap on the lore of the orcs, but say nothing against requests for races mentioned only briefly in the lore, far more briefly than orcs.

The representation of stupid orcs is a straw man. There are lazy orcs (intelligent use of their position of authority by "delegation"), there are aggressive orcs, there are productive orcs. My favorite orc story is Mazoga. Laughed at because she wishes to assert her knighthood in spite of the the Imperial prejudice that orcs cannot be knights. And, alongside the hero, she becomes a knight of an order in the Imperial heartland.

I actually look forward to playing an orc in Skyrim. I'm sure it will have the charm of playing an argonian in Morrowind.

Both bosmer and dunmer are in the game. :icecream: I'm sure they meant replace an in game race with an out of game race, unless you were sarcastically throwing your vote in as "change none."

Mazoga is an example of a well-done humerous character. At first glance shes just another dumb orc to laugh at, but when you get to know her it becomes apparent theres more to her than just that.

Still, personally I've nothing against the ocasional one-dimensional comic character. Its just Bethesda overdid it, particularly with Bosmer and Orcs, which means thats all a lot of people see when they look at them.

Wouldn't replace any, but if it had to be done, I always play Altmer, Maormer might be interesting for a change, replace one of the magically gifted races with a proper sea-faring people.

I would replace none of them, they all have a lot of lore behind them, includining the orcs, a race of elves thet were corrupted because of boethiah eating their god, yet they still worship him even though he is a vengeful and spiteful weak god.

I say it less of the race or lore then it is how they are portrayed I never played bosmer in morrowind simply because they looked pretty weeny, now in skyrim it might change.

the imperials, bland warrior/merchants bluegh (the sound i make when i think about it) I would replace them with the nibenese, who i believe would be a more stealth like race, meh at least change imperial to cyriodill (not good with spelling), sounds alot less bland. Extinct or missing races i would like are igma or the sload, although i don't want to play them just see them in game. More forms of khajit or argonians. Supposedly there are other forms, well i say prove it!
