"You didn't do you research!"

Post » Fri May 20, 2011 11:37 am

I've noticed that whenever someone who has played brink has a compliant about it, no matter what the complaint is someone will anyways tell them they didn't look into the game before buying it. Plenty of people have looked into it, plenty of people had waiting months for this game and plenty of people felt disappointed.

I'm not saying you can't have a different opinion but stop trying to tell them that they didn't do their research.

Yeah, especially when some of the flaws are due to the developers blatantly exaggerating the game's content. "Near-endless customization. Create a character that is truly unique." Bull crap.

All I know is that I went over to a friends house to play this and we hit the max level in like 5 or 6 hours, if that. It was pretty much boring and repetitive after that. This was like a Live Arcade game to me. Im not a shooter fan and I only really like shooters with depth, strategy and a learning curve. Brink just didnt do that for me, not enough at least.

To be fair, the Brink Compendium told you exactly what BRINK was going to be about.

Darn it, when we gave out those welcome turtles and a free copy of the Brink Bible, we wanted you to READ the Brink Bible. Twice, preferably.

Lol, love how people think the game svcks, shows just how ignorant most people are. The game is about fun. Not KD, fun. get it in your head. If the final levels bore you, stop playing bots(unless you're on PS3)

How did you get to the max level in 5-6 hours? You had to have been getting like 10,000 xp per match to do that considering it takes 300,000 xp to get to level 20.

Seriously guys, the game is all about the multiplayer. If your not a multiplayer fan, yes the game will be a let down. However, if you do respect a good multiplayer, and know how to be a team player (which this game is all about) then you can fall in love with this game like I have. Just give the developers some time to patch it. They worked as fast as they good to get the game to the point that we could play it, but they are not done. I see a couple of patches coming in the near future. The first DLC pack has already been announced free. I see a lot more new custimization coming in that. Hopefully in weapons.

"You didn't do you research!" This isn't the answer to everything.

Fair enough =/

I only really like shooters with depth, strategy and a learning curve. Brink just didnt do that for me, not enough at least.

Ummm....then you didn't do your research.

ANYONE will and could have told you brink is not about a learning curve or depth. It is a mediocre shooter bringing MANY new features to the FPS genre with an emphasis on team play and objective based gameplay.

Well when they complain about things that were very obvious and clearly stated in any interview or compendium about the game then that retort is acceptable. "Why is there no TDM, CTF, {insert other game mode here}?" Stuff like that... Which I have seen numerous complaints on..

Why do I give a crap about research? I didnt buy the game. I didnt want to buy it. I played it at a friends and it was mediocre at best.

Well when they complain about things that were very obvious and clearly stated in any interview or compendium about the game then that retort is acceptable. "Why is there no TDM, CTF, {insert other game mode here}?" Stuff like that... Which I have seen numerous complaints on..

Djive makes no point, since I didnt even rent the game, played it at a friends. I didnt think this game was this, or that. I didnt even know it came out until I went over to my friends. The only thing I knew about this game before I played it was that it wasn't an RPG, so I didnt care about it. The shooters I like and what this game is, has nothing to do with each other, since I had no predetermination to ever get this game.

Therefore I didnt and do not have to do research on a game that I didnt even know I was going to play.

Technically you didnt hit max level in JUST those few hours. Some work was already put in.

So what? Like I said, it took 5 to 6 hours. He had played for a few hours, then we played for a few hours. Together it was 5 to 6 hours. the fact remains that you shouldn't be able to hit max level in half a day. That's jokingly terrible.

I say that if they go "What, gernades don't kill?!" or "Why does it take more than 6 AR bullets to kill?!" but if it is like "AI needs an upgrade", that needs a different answer.

I played the game, it was mediocre. I have as much a right to be here as anyone else.

Of course you have "the right" to be here.. (lol) .. But there is no point since you don't own it, want to own it, or even care about it in the least. So therefore you are here to argue and express your dislike of the game.. and that's it.

98% of the time "you didn't look into it first" is a valad response. Anyone who spends 10 minutes reading about the game beforehand can find out exactly what the game brings to the table. On top of that, watching any number of the pre-release videos will give you an exact picture of what this game is. It's not like SD tried [censored]ting you into buying it, they simply put it out there stating that it is nowhere near your average FPS and showed you exactly what they meant by that in the videos and in the interviews. Hell even the pre-launch reviews of Brink were pretty spot on about what the game was. It's the players fault for buying it thinking it was something other than what it was.

Now 2% of the time it's a valid complaint stating that the AI is not up to par or that there is lag or whathaveyou. These complaints are being addressed by SD through patches that, IMHO, are coming out at a fantastic rate, proving that SD is more than ready and willing to support the community.

Anything else, well that falls under "Your opinion", which you are intitled too, just like everyone that says they love this game is intitled to their opinion.
