You don't look well?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:21 pm

Hi

Everyone I run into tells my character that you don't look well or asks are you sick.

So I assume that there is something wrong, the problem is I don't see any indication any place as to what it is or what I'm supposed to do about it?

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Mike

Hi Mike,
Look under Active Effects in your spells menu - you might have to scroll to see it. You could have a disease draining your stamina or something else - praying at a shrine will normally cure you.
However, I reckon there is also a bug when they can say this and you don't actually have a disease. The woman in the potion shop in Whiterun says it to me all the time.
Cheers

I am also always told by the Whiterun potion shop owner that I am looking sick. I thought it might be because she is selling potions to cure disease so she is just telling everyone this - kind of immoral business practices frankly.

Yeah, doesn't always indicate a disease. I get "you don't look well", "you look awfully pale", etc etc all the time, and 75% of the time there's no diseases to be found.

Yeah, what everyone else said and Dragon Toothpick--you're right. She tells everyone they look sick in an effort to drum up a little business. As for her lying....well, she *is* an Imperial. Enough said.

lol - hadn't considered it was a sales tactic! Doesn't work anyway, I just sell her everything I can and steal anything that isn't marked "Steal" from her shelves. But it did make me wonder why she has free stuff in her shop?! Not really a very successful business at the end of the day.

Lol glad I'm not the only one. I went through about 25 hours or so with someone that was afflicted. Asked an irl friend about this and he acted like I was [censored]...

I wonder if your follower gets sick; maybe the other NPC's are reacting to that and not the player's condition...

Think that's a bug. Lot of items that should be "steal" simply show up as "take". Althought with the laundry list of things that Bethesda has to fix, I wouldn't hold my breath on this getting addressed anytime soon. Not that I'm complaining - I'm never one to turn down free stuff.

Yes, a poor albeit minor example of UI design.
With all those notifications, couldn't they have designed one sightly more memorable or a camera effect?

DLC.

You have some sort of a disease and need to either take a cure disease potion or visit a shrine of one of the divines.

Well I found a couple of women walking along the road and they cured me.
Then I ran into some vampires.

Now it say "You feel weaker as the sun rises"?

Well I have to go to the temple for a quest anyway. LOL

You are now a vampire and cannot cure it through normal means.
