You drop to the ground...

Well, I've been playing Daggerfall for the past couple days after spending hours getting it running. Everything was fine, I was enjoying the combat, the music, etc. I've never had any CTD's at all but I do have one problem.

When I quit my game and try to reload it and play it later, the message "You drop to the ground, completely exhausted. You awaken one hour later." is displayed. Then nothing. It remains at the save game screen no matter how long I wait or how much I click.

As I said, the game was running flawlessly before. I haven't messed with any of the files, I haven't moved anything, updated anything, or gotten a virus. With how long the game has been out, I feel it's safe to assume this is a known glitch. Now, is there a known solution?

TL;DR my game is broked, halp

That happened to me, I didn't know how to fix it so I restarted and it hasn't happened since.

I'm afraid, to the best of my knowledge, you're screwed. Hopefully you have another save around.

I'm not sure how this error happens, but I believe I read somewhere that this savegame corruption essentially destroys your character's information, which is why you get a notification about having 0 stamina left upon loading. There's no way to repair a save like this. :(

This is where I'm stuck. It's not just one save, I keep around 3 for the character I play currently. It happens just about every time I save and reload a game.

Could it be that the entire save tree is corrupt somehow? I believe all six save slots share certain data files with one another. Hence why, when you use a Daggerfall save game editor, you need to locate the DAGGER folder and not a specific SAVE# folder.

My characters had that message once in while upon some travels arrivals but it didn't seem to have any consequences at all.
