Do you expect something special for you in gaming in 2016?

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 5:35 pm

I have a big backlog of games here. I bought Pillars of Eternity a while back, and haven't installed it yet. I'll also probably buy Witcher3 when they get finished with all the DLC, and it goes on GoG sale (whenever that is.) And Fallout4, maybe, but only when it reaches a final version, with all patches and DLC (I've learned the hard way to buy Bethesda games that way.)

I'ma wait for Shadowrun: Hong Kong: Shadows of Hong Kong: Running the Shadows 3: Return of The Hong Kong Shadow Runners: Part 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Ah, a Shadow of the Beast reboot!?!? Hope it eventually makes it to PC. :( DotT Remaster sounds good, too. Classic.

There is no way The Elder Scrolls VI will release for sale in 2016 or even get announced.

Bethesda Game Studios needs to sell Fallout 4 DLC's and expansion packs, releasing The Elder Scrolls VI will most definitely cannibalize Fallout 4's DLC's and expansion packs sales.

lol Well it's been already 5 years since Skyrim came out. I think Bethesda is going to reveal a trailer at some point in summer (may-june-july) somewhere around there. Then the official release date will be announced somewhere around september. So yeah you could say i am dreaming. lol I think it will be until 2017. Hopefully it's not because i want it now!

Well they have other games like Dishorned 2 and Doom coming out. Why not Elder Scrolls? Hehe.

Gears Of War 4 and Doom are both day 1 for me, so was Scalebound but that got delayed until 2017 :(

I'm quietly hoping a currently unannounced game will come out this year and blow me away. I don't know what but I crave that feeling of playing a new game for the first time and it's jawdroppingly good (Red Dead Redemption did it, so did Skyrim sort of). 2015 has been pretty great though, here's to an equally good 2016 :)

Those are not Bethesda Game Studios studios that are developing and releasing those video games for sale though.

Because Elder Scrolls and Fallout are aimed at roughly the same fan base. They won't jeopardize sales of FO4 DLC by bringing out TES6 so soon.

BGS alternate between Fallout and Elder Scrolls. If you consider that there was 4 years between Skyrim and Fallout 4, TES VI probably won't be out until at least 2019.

Just waiting a few more days for Dragon's Dogma on PC. Still a while until my next batch of games.

They won't talk about their next game at all until Fallout 4 is finished, so at least for another year.

I...don't?

This is worrying. I guess there's continuation of games I got into last year but they aren't anything special tbh.

I have a few.

I'm more excited for Masquerada: Songs and Shadows. It looks really good.

Fire Emblem: Fates.

Probably the Fallout 4 DLCs.

Dragon's Dogma, and that's out this Friday.

Mass Effect.

Maybe No Man's Sky.

Dishonored 2 is the highlight of this year for me, I can't wait to play it.

With so little shown so far, I doubt the new Mass Effect will be released this year, but I'm quite excited to play that too.

And, as always, anything TES is a top priority for me, so come on Bethesda, don't be shy, I can take everything you throw at me: rumors, trademarks, spin-offs, TES novels...

Maybe, but not certainly. My current PC is over five years old. Other than adding a few SSDs it's seen no hardware upgrades in years. I am thinking that this might be the year to assemble a new rig with decent quality parts that will allow me to play games both old and new with more graphic detail, higher FPS and less stutters. However, late last year I was diagnosed with yet another medical condition, one that doesn't look to be well covered by health insurance. Though treatment isn't so expensive as to break me, it ain't cheap. I'm still researching insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs, so nothing is certain. As it looks now, even in a best case scenario I won't be assembling a new PC any time soon. I still don't rule out a new PC build later in the year. We shall see. :)

If Deus Ex: HR is any indication, I think Mankind Divided will be a great game.

Yeah, more novels by Greg Keyes (or someone else) would be great to pass the wait between games, and add more lore and connections between events too.

I saw they released the second volume for both 'Skyrim Library' and 'Tales of Tamriel' collections, but unfortunately I understand it's just the text of the in-game books, no new content at all (except some artwork). I will probably buy them as they look gorgeous but I'd be much more excited to read new novels.
