You're favourite god?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 3:07 am

First time posting on lore. Ill definatly be spending the next few hours browsing this lore site! Anyways thoughts on your favourite god?
Mine is definatly Vivec. I know he betrays the nerevar, but I think he definatly redeemed himself. Some of my earliest memories of playing morrowind for the first time was visiting his city (i remeber exactly, I went down to the hlaalu underworks got shot with a spell by someone, in turn I thought my stamina bar was the my health bar so I thought he cursed me so if I run too much I die. Silly I know but i cherish that memory). Anyways, I liked going to his city and going up to where he lives and knowing there wasa god on the other side of the door.

So who is your favorite and why?

Vivec wasn't really a god god, just a "fake" god but it matters how you see it of course

I like Lorkhan. Anything to do with Lorkhan, even his alternate aspects. I do not know why but maybe becuase he is kind of "unknown".

True. He was a fake god. But he still did have a following and 'powers'. I like Lorkhan too, his mythology is interesting. And he plays a part in morrowind (well a piece of him does anyways)

You're favorite god?
Well apparently, I am favorite god! :twirl:

But in all seriousness, I would also say that Vivec is my favorite god. Followed by Lorkhan and, by association, Talos. Followed by Dagoth Ur.

Lorkhan, probably. I like tricksters, and he's so interpretable. I also like Arkay a bit.

Oh, and does the Godhead count? Gotta love them crazy primordial dreamers.

Shor, the real god of the world, not that usurper Aka. He's also highly anti-mer, which I also like.

I've always liked the Trickster god/spirit archetype: Hermes, Loki, Coyote, to a lesser extent Prometheus.

So mine would have to be Lorkhan.

Are you Japanese by any change?

I can't say i would have any favorite god in TES. Morrowind left me with desire to learn lore and partially this was because of it's Dunmer/Chimer religions concerning Tribune, "good" and "bad" daedra. So i'd say all of those + Lorkhan and Akatosh.

My personal favorite is Peryite. He's never been prominent in any sense, and I've always liked the underdogs. Besides, I like the ring to ''The Daedric Prince of Order''.

That's Jyggalag. Peryite is the Daedric Prince of ordering the lowest of Daedra. Also Pestilence.

Sheogorath is cool (he'd be cooler if he wasn't so whacko, and if he got rid of the Dementia side of the SI and made everything Mania -.-), so is Jyggalag, and Azura just seems pretty cool as well.

When Jyggalag got introduced/fleshed out in Shivering Isles, i felt that they sort of overlapped each other. As if Peryite was initially the Daedric Prince of Order and then Jyggalag was introduced and the roles were sort of redefined. Didn't Peryite say something like ''may this give you order in your life'' when he gave you Spellbreaker in Oblivion? Beside, they are rather similar aspects of the same thing I'd say. The Taskmaster, and everything
