Do you feel the fallout series should end?

if you don't like how bethesda makes games now, you're never gonna like the games they make, all their games are massive sucesses, they make the type of games their fans like, they aren't gonna ditch their game style and make some old ass rpg nobody wants to play, they don't make old fashioned rpgs, they put a lot of time into making their game environments, all those locations aren't just for show, like the downtown dc area, all the underground bases and dungeons, all those locations like la enfant plaza, the capitol building etc. they aren't there just to look at, for people who like combat and sneaking around stalking enemies etc, those locations are fun, lots of nooks and crannies to hide in, all sorts of large building complexes and ancient ruins, thats the type of game they make. i don't expect id software to change the types of games they make, or valve, they aren't gonna change how they make their games, why would they, they all make great games already. bethesda is no different.

First of all, son, id makes decent games with good graphics. There haven't been any recent GOOD id games (Rage is debatable - I thought it was okay, but it was a let-down). Second, Valve's games are incomparable to Bethesda games - the audience they're aiming for is completely different. Bethesda makes GOOD games, not GREAT games. Sales don't equate to quality - if that was true, then Call of Duty and Battlefield would be masterpieces of gaming. And if you're going to go and say that they are, don't bother posting on the New Vegas forum anymore. You're not the kind wanted around here.

Bethesda had their one chance to try out new things with Fallout 3. Admittedly, the game was a step in the right direction gameplay-wise, but story-wise the game was absolute GARBAGE and not up to the caliber of a true Fallout game. Fallout 3 was a mixed bag, and one I don't want Bethesda to repeat when they make Fallout 4. I want them to shift direction a bit, towards New Vegas and maybe even towards the classics (but with the same combat of New Vegas/3, just better quests and mechanics).

Call of Duty? Nah, but Battlefield's multiplayer model is better than that of any FPS game currently available.

i disagree, i think obsidian did everything better than beth, but they did have F3 as a template. but skyrim should of had new vegas as a template, but they decided to ignore it.

skyrim should of had a new vegas template? HMMM that wouldn't work, bethesda games are totally different than obsdian games. and much higher rated, and game ratings in the gaming community translate to sales and dollars and the overall popularity of a game. so it would make more sense if obsidian picked up some pointers from bethesda games since obsidian games are hard pressed to ever get a high game rating, they're usually kinda mediocre, 7 or 8 in the rating department, which is ok, but no blockbuster games are rated at 7 or 8, you have to remember, bethesda games are always rated at 9 or 10.

I think he means in the way of writing and actually putting the RP into RPG... In that aspect; Skyrim is [censored] compared to New Vegas. I find it too hard to even write it as an opinion. It's so blatantly obvious when you compare the quests from New Vegas to the ones in Skyrim; you can actually feel for the people your doing the quests for, sometimes you actually felt like you wanted to help them; Skyrim doesn't offer that; as far as I can see. In that way; yes; it was moronic for them to ignore the blatant improvements Obsidian made to their overall RPG development; even if they are two totally different settings I don't see how you can't see that they use the same template.
