My reaction would be as follows: First I would find the ruins and think, "I wonder what's in here." Then, I would progress through the ruins as I would with any other ruin, but when I found the weapon room, I would think, "Okay, this is complete crap, I hate this." A couple of minutes later, I would end up using those guns and completely ignore swords, axes, and bows for the rest of the game.

Put shortly, it would detract from the overall gameplay precedent set by previous TES entries.

Stick with the Fallout series or mod a bow that sounds and looks like a gun if you have PC version.
The majority don't want guns (rifles) in TES and I'm quite sure Bethesda doesn't want them in there either.

You just won't let this gun thing go, will you? Why can't you just accept that including guns in TES defeats the charm of the series? It's one of those fantasy games all about sword-and-shield combat with some magic thrown in. What's wrong with that? We have literally hundreds of shooters these days, they're dominating the market. If you want games with guns, then go play something else, that's not what this series is about. It doesn't matter what silly "Dwermer" stuff you include as justification, it will not be included. You clearly have a lack of understanding of the lore of the series.

Please knock it off. Every time you make a topic like this, there's a resounding "hell no" waiting for you from the rest of the forums. I don't know how many topics you need to make until you realize that.

I've never understood this idea that long dead civilisations would have technology hugely outstripping modern ones.

In any case, you come at me with a rifle and I'll come at you with a fireball and a shield spell - guns don't just not fit into the world, they're ineffective.

Check out Terry Brooks - Shannara - series of books & prequels.

@ OP - No, guns & fantasy don't mix. Wrong forum for this thread.

Why so many guns threads from you, Kirov Class?

Don't you learn from the experience of the first thread? We don't want any lasers or guns or aliens or anything alike in Skyrim. This is so obvious that it's silly.

I really wouldn't mind is some long dead civilization left behind guns. They would be useless anyway since there would be no gun powder or anyone left alive who knows where to find the ingredients or how to make it. A gun would make a cute little easter egg trophy on my fireplace.

As far as I care these Torcks can take their invention and migrate to other games like Wow, Call of Duty, Battlefield and many others.

:shakehead:

All you gun people should just give up once and for all. Stop trying to butcher TES and stick to shooters or mods to get your firearms fix.

There are no "gun people" . There's just one dude who keeps creating these "DWERMER tech muskets" threads all the time.

Actually, wouldn't guns act as a counterbalance to mages for non-magic users? Not everyone has the time, desire, or intelligence to be a spellcaster, after all.

But no, not in the Elder Scrolls, please.

I'm pretty sure everyone in the ES can cast a simple flare, including the commoners. Just a guess though...
Oh by the way OP, NO...just, no

I would expect to see some primitive rocketry long before I ever saw guns (let alone rifling, which was a fairly late development) in the TES series. Something like rocket launched arrows.

Anyway. The adding of another race could be fun.. HELL, we might even unlock it as playable if you complete your first playthrough. I think many of you are sceptical to making an extinct race playable due to the lack of realism, but I really think that there can be found loopholes. Let's say the nine gods forgave the or something, and they sent one torck down to the world, tamriel, to maybe give the race another chance. So, if you play the torck, what will you do? Will you be good, and thus secure a future for your race? Will you be evil and selfish? Or will you take the path of power and challenge the nine gods themselves (including Tiber Septim I.)? That choice is up 2 you.

The only way I'd support high tech...guns... is in the way Arcanium did it. The more tech savvy you are, the less skilled you are in magic, and vice-versa. Even then, i don't think i want firearms in TES.

You're right; he's just one very vocal minority who actually made me think there might be more supporters of this terrible concept besides himself. He's tenacious I'll give him that, but he's also thankfully lonely in his cause.
