So You Finish Skyrim what now?

Post » Sat Jan 08, 2011 5:30 am

I was just thinking do you think we should keep playing after the main story Is completed or wait for a DLC to let us to keep playing through. (Me I hope we don't need a DLC to do so I don't have that much money you know?)

One does not simply "finish" Skyrim.

I think that depends on how fast you finish the main story and how many of the side questing you have done. If SKyrim is like past Elder Scrolls games than the main story will pale in comparison to the vast amount of other content it has available.

Me... I'm going to look forward to the Unicorn and Levitation DLC. I'm not sure if I can afford the $300 each though

You finish the MQ? Then go do the other major quest lines, side quests, and unmarked quests. Go dungeon delving, and after 100 hours of playing on a single character then you can get mods. And you can always make a new character.

Explore the world, buy a house, take advantage of the woodcutting/mining/smithing actions, take up obscure quests, finish side quests, loot dungeons.

And then make a new character and do it all with a different play style. You should really explore combat, stealth, and magic in equal measure, so long as you have the time.

Then add mods, rinse and repeat.

I really see no purpose for this thread. Of coarse we'll continue to play after the main quest?

I usually spin out the MQ as long as possable sot here's little else to do int he world by the time I'm done with it. Interesting question though casue if there's open world play after the MQ then my play style might change.

This feels like a troll thread, does anybody really believe that a TES game will end with the main storyline?

A good 50% or more of the current threads are pointless. Its either complaining about whats confirmed, praising what is confirmed, or hoping a developer will actually listen to their ideas. All pointless.

There are plenty of side quests and different ways to play the game that you can play as long as you want.

Considering the fact that I haven't even finished playing Morrowind since the day it came out and haven't even bothered getting around to playing Oblivion, I'm not exactly concerned about "finishing" Skyrim too soon.

I don't think the main quest will end the game, and I assume you're saying that because it did in Fallout 3. I think they made that choice with Fallout 3 because that's the way that all of the previous Fallout games ended. However, in both Morrowind and Oblivion you could keep playing after completing the main quest.

This.

And once I've completely played through, I will start over with a new character and play it all over again, just like I do in Oblivion... :D

Finish? I haven't seen an "You win" screen yet.

I'll keep playing until I do.

And since it's an Elder Scrolls game that won't be for at least 100-200 hours.

Exactly, Elder Scrolls games don't really have an end. From the factions to the main story, from the side quests to the unmarked quests, from the easter eggs to the whacky AI exploits, there's always enough content to surprise you, even after playing it for years.

Do not forget mods. The mod community of Oblivion is what made me reinstall the game time and again.
