If Obsidian did Cali or the Mojave (FONV sequel?), I would be ok with it.
I'm just worried about the good chance of Beth's horrible fake irish voice actors trying to pull off an irish accent.
Sarcasm? (Since 2004, they have won in 2004, 2007, and 2013)
Seattle would have offered more storyline possibilities because we pretty much know nothing about what happened to the Emerald City. I'm guessing the main reason why they went to Boston is because there were so many references to it in the previous title.
With that said, if Bethesda does allow/request Obsidian to do another title to maybe be a sequel to New Vegas (which I enjoyed more than FO3 because imo it was more immersive and customizable with the character), then my hopeful ideal situation would be that Bethesda remains on the East Coast/Midwest and Obsidian can do the West Coast/Rocky Mountain Areas of North America.
Just moved from the DC area to the Boston area. Fallout has followed me. I'm happy with Beantown.
(say... since Beth always makes Fallout games where I live, anyone who wants a game set in, say, Hawaii, should send me lots of moving money right now.)
Boston is fine for me. Honestly, anywhere in the US is going to be just fine.
I know that it is not the point of the Fallout games, but I would like to play in the Fallout universe somewhere that is not the former United States. China got bombed, most of Europe had a mini-nuke war before the Big Xplosion, I want to see those! I want to explore these places that, by previous games own admission, is even worse than the remnants of the States. Scarier than a pack of Death Claws, Super Mutants and the Enclave? Hell yes I want to see those!
Maybe they will get Conan O'brien to do some voice acting. ha jk
I'm completely down with Boston. That said, I really want to see a fallout game in Chicago. The thought of wiping out the Enclave for good...or completely reviving them sounds awesome. Maybe we'll get a 1-2 punch like last time and Obsidian is secretly working on that game...
I'm really excited for Boston. Looks good, and there's a lot to see there.
Maybe they could put in a random encounter where you have some people from Boston fighting some New Yawkers who strayed off course in their adventuring.
I think I can handle a few southie drunks
(as long as they aren't voiced by Ben Affleck or Matt Damon)
let the Bostonian butthurt commence
outta here
All those little tiny crocks in my inventory...
TA ALL YOU BOSTONIANS ~ you're gonna love this!!!!
"Mary-mutha-ah-gawd, you gotta be wicked smaht!" But we bet you don't know some things.
Like, what's a three decka? A packie? How about a rotary? Ever banged a U-ey? Worn dungarees or ordered a frappe?
-even a Rhodes scholar would have a tough time deciphering the language Boston calls its own.
"New Englanders have had a long and strong tradition eccentric ways of expressing themselves, especially in Boston," said Boston University Linguistics professor Michael Feldman.
"It's very distinctive." Indeed ~ and we'd have a pissah time tryin' to stump ya, then make fun of ya behind ya back . .. but that's wicked mean.
Instead, here's a little primer to take with you on the T, while you're on the Common or in the Gahden, maybe catchin' a Pats game or sipping a regulah coffee at Dunkies.
Other tips: Don't say COPEly Square, it's COPley. Worcester isn't WOOster, it's Wisstah. Don't Say Commonwealth Avenue, Massachusetts Avenue or Dorchester Avenue.
It's Comm. Ave, Mass. Ave and Dot. Ave.
