Do you guys have game testers in house?

I was wondering if you guys have game testers in house or if you hire them from elsewhere. If you have some in house could I interview them about how their job works.

At first glance I really doubt gamesas has any internal beta testers, they only have 9 employees (5 administrative and 4 developers according to SEC fillings IIRC) and I don't think they do any development internally asides from the MMO.

We do not have in-house QA at this time, but we plan on hiring in the future at the appropriate time.

In regards to interviewing game testers?

You can try these guys,

http://platformbiased.com/

They work at Microsoft and all have jobs that revolve around game testing, they are very community oriented so they might be able to help. A friend of mine recently got a job at Sony doing this stuff but this was very recently so I don't know if he would be able to offer any insight.

I usually refer people to Gamasutra:

But there are plenty of other sites, too.

I did game testing for Atari…it isn’t the gaming paradise you think it is. Imagine long repetitive hours nit picking ever inch of the game for months on end, and if you lucky the game might actually have some merit…which is quite rare nowadays. But hey go for it, you never know it might be the first of many steps in an interesting career in gaming. ;)

well you do get to see your name in the credits if thats any comfort
It might depend for which company you're working for, but usually no one really cares what you think and if you have suggestions to improve the game; it involves lots of overtime during busy periods and it feels like you are always replaceable. I guess if it wasn't for the people there and the career opportunities id be long gone. So youre telling me FO3 is better than the first two? Okay i respect your opinion. Can we step outside for a sec?
