If you had to sacrifice one of these, which would it be?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:18 pm

Couldn't choose so didn't vote, wouldn't want to lose any of those things.

Think about it from a limitation perspective. The bucket is only so big. Which one do you leave behind?

Right, well I voted "In depth characters and companions" in the end under the uncomfortable truth that, well, I really enjoyed Skyrim despite the "characters and companions" being somewhat one dimensional. But I only arrived at this conclusion because I had to, I'd rather not lose any of the options. Tricky question actually, made me think.

What I found interesting is that the number one feature that people claim to love Bethesda more than any other company for (exploration) is the one that has most votes for removing.

Yeah, I just regret the last option. That's obviously the one people cre the least about. I mean, loading times have always been around and the world size was big enough in 3 and New Vegas, so I should have left that out.

Removed it. It was bugging me. It was too easy for most with that last option.

I think that's because they are focusing on 'graphics' as opposed to other Bethesda game staples like huge open world, modability, item physics, player homes and everything else that isn't included in one of the other options.

In depth characters would be the easy choice since that's never really been Beth's thing.

Well I would've picked world features but thats gone :thanks:

?

?I guess out of all of those, character creation is the least important so I'll go with that.

I would get rid of the consequences thing, they are always shallow gameplay elements that are illusory. You play through again and realize that the outcome remains mostly the same besides a few lines of dialog and some flavor text.

Why would they be mutually exclusive? And if i had to pick one it would be character creation on the belief that if you had a set character he/she would be more tied to the gameworld/plot. Look at geralt vs the dragonborn for an example. Also all characters are basically the same, there is no difference between being a black or white dude, or a guy with a clean shave vs mohawk, its what choices said character makes that really makes them different.

Also i don't usually play female characters so i wouldn't even notice if they got axed lol

I can confidently assure you that if 'graphics' had been a separate choice and not bundled under the umbrella of 'world features', virtually all of those voters would have chosen that, because 'graphics' is what people saw and voted for.

?'World Features' to me seemed more like the actual design of the world, meaning less 'stuff' which I actually prefer. I didn't even think of graphics.

Might well be. Though I only read the "headlines".

Even so.... Gone is gone.

Well since my vote was deleted and you deleted my answer... Character Creation. I don't care that much for how my character looks

I believe I typed the question wrong, which is why I'm so confused at your answers. It's too late now, but when I said 'sacrifice', I didn't mean fully give up on consequences and in depth characters, I meant no improvement. As in, rather than having in depth characters like people want, Bethesda has ditched that in favour of improving something else. So characters would be as in depth as in Fallout 3 with no improvement, because they sacrificed that improvement for the other things. I feel that I screwed the thing up a lot. Doesn't matter now, though. And it's not important anyway.

I wanted the question to be hard, but most fans seemed to have a very easy time just going with World Features and the results weren't that interesting because most votes were piled into one answer.

Well, my vote got deleted too, and my answer is still the same. Graphics/world features is my first choice of things to give up. Character creation, reluctantly, is my second choice.

So you removed it because most people voted to get rid of World Features.. huh..

Yeah my vote was deleted too which kinda bothers me. I don't see the point in holding a poll when our votes and opinions are just going to be silenced.

I voted for world features because I care more about the other aspects of the Fallout games over Bethesda's typical hallmark: Exploration.

Wow, can't believe so many people are voting for SPECIAL. .. Consequences of actions is my vote... In Depth Characaters and Companions would be my second. (I could care less about companions.. They usually svck at stealth and since I usually play stealth characters, I usually play solo.) In depth stories and quests would be third. I guess all in all, I'd rather create a character and roam an questless, storyless world simply exploring and killing monsters. That would be a weird game.
