If you had to sum up Fallout in one song....

If you had to sum up what you expect from New Vegas or just Fallout in general in one song what would it be?
My song would be "turn the page" by Bob Seger!

Well it would depend on the genre.

General rock/easy listening: Grave Digger by Dave Matthews

Emo/rock: Anthem Of Our Dying Day by Story Of The Year

Metal: Endzeit by Heaven Shall Burn (i feel i should mention, while the band is German and the title is in German the song is in English and the title translates to "last days")

Pop/punk: Downfall Of Us all by A Day To Remember

Punk: Welcome To Oblivion by Madina Lake

That's all i can think of now, i know you said just one song but i can't do it! I just know i will think of more and i will have to post them.

rock/metal, Martyr to Science by Deadlock reminds me of the FEV

Rock song with an excellent female vocalist is The Hownling by Within temptation, even just the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEmN334zNy4 makes me think of Fallout.

Instramental/choir http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtDe03HzOEw by Craig Armstrong

Another orchestra/composer that really capture the sadness with some of the fear and excitement is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAI2doCUbNc by Ludovico Einaudi, it seems slow at first, but give it some time.

Hi,

By reading the threadtitle, I knew I had to register to post this song... ;-)

The Mission - Wasteland

There's a crystal view from my window
And I can see years to come
I live for the burn and the sting of pleasure
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun
I can tear down the walls, storm them barricades
Run to the place where the frightened crawl
Desire lurks beyond good and evil
So dance on the graves where the hammer falls

(Chorus)
Over this land
All over this wasteland
Over this land
All over this wasteland

You can touch, but please keep your distance
You're innocent and pure and with no shame
The spirit is willing, and the flesh is great
Your teasing your torment with the pleasure of pain

(Chorus)

Heaven and Hell, I know them well
But I haven't yet made my choice
I'm feeling dead 'cause I'm shouting loud
And NO ONE can hear my voice
Walking the tightwire, can't look down
Strung out high, above you all
Faithful wind blows through this land
Howls my name, Hell is my fall.

(chorus)
(spooky music)

Regards,

Larde.

Hrm personally I'd say possibly http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AITCBJu_NBc by Skyclad suits the Fallout atmosphere although I admit the style of the music doesn't quite fit the fallout feeling.

Has a lot of modern political overtones, but a lot of the thematic material is very relevant to the Fallout world.

Granted, it was released in 1961 but it still carries a very 50's style to it that would be very appropriate in a Fallout soundtrack. The lyrics are very appropriate for the "Lone Wanderer" (main protagonist/PC) of Fallout 3 and, come to think of it, any character you get to play in any Fallout game given the open-world nature of most of the games.
