Do you have Home Plate decorated?

Post » Fri Feb 26, 2016 8:36 pm

If so...how? Do you have any photos?

I'm really interested in this because I've seen YouTube videos of folks decorating Home Plate and I've never quite liked what they've done. I have my diamond city Home Plate decorated myself, but I'm curious what others may have done?

What's your favorite decoration aspect of your diamond city Home Plate?

Im actually doing it now. I just finished the kitchen and dining area, which is by the door underneath the interior loft. Stove, small table, and shelves/cabinet for storage. I'm also gathering tons of cloth to do wall to wall carpeting. Using some clipping tricks to get the rugs to go through the walls.

I do hope eventually we can "remove" the workshop like we could in Skyrim. The fact I cant even move it disturbs me.

PC or Xbox One / PS4?

And if Xbox One or PS4, how do you get the stove in there? I haven't seen that yet.

I'm guessing he's talking about the cooking stove in the Crafting menu -- it's an actual range, as opposed to a spit over a campfire.

Decorated and furnished the place, but then never really used the place. The ONLY use I get out of it is to park my PA suit there while I'm shopping in the Market.

PS4. One of the updates allowed for crafting benches, and there are like 3 different cooking stations...a giant rotisserie, a hanging large pot, and a stove.

I think all the crafting stations are available to build now, used to be only one kind. Now there is two different chemistry stations, two weapons benches...i think two armor benches. Still think there is only one PA station (i really want the kind the BoS has)

Nope.

1. It's dark and dreary, Completely enclosed and strangely stuffy.

2. The workbench is very very limited.

3. You cannot connect it to any of your trade lines so you have to manually haul to there any construction materials you intend to use.

It's a miserable pit and a pain in the butt.

I prefer Hangman's Alley and the drive-inn.

I like that you can fast travel directly inside it, though . . . er, if you're into that kind of thing. :goodjob:

Thanks man!

I wish I could share photos of how I have mine decorated but the forum says I can't post links :(

I'm really happy with how mine came out! Yours sounds pretty rad too and I've got it for PS4 so I'll have to peep the stove options!

I was going to but then I realized it can't be conected to the supply line which means no resource sharing.

I may do it later on though.

I own it, but haven't decorated it yet (PC). My hopes for this place was that it would be similar to the house you could buy in F03, but it's not. I may eventually get to it, but the biggest drawback for me is that I can't link it to a supply line to access all my accumulated building materials. I think it has potential, but I find Hangmans Alley more useful as a base for that area.

I haven't even visited since after I bought it. What a huge let down. Can't even create a supply line there. What a [censored]hole. Best bit is the roof porch up the ladder which doesn't even form part of the build able area.

That's true...I don't care much that the supply line isn't there because I always return there after every mission (because its decorated pretty sweet) and that's my home base. However, I have decorated the roof porch a little bit so far, being as I've brought things by grabbing them, riding with them in the mayors office elevator, jumping off the stairs/rails of the colonial taphouse area and then super mario bouncing until I get up there. I've got a hat rack, some tires and concrete blocks and other things! Its a work in progress lol

Although I'm intrigued by the possibility of setting off bottlecap mines by the plenty and filling my bathtub full of bottlecaps just because my guy is a fat cat like that ahaha (without using the money glitch...I'm not even sure how that works, honestly)

You need 10 forum posts before being able to post links (which you have). So you could upload it to imgur for example, and share that way :)

I bought Home Plate in my first play through..... First thing I wanted to do is open a window as it was so dusty in there...I can't breath! No more Home Plate for me. Same reason I don't use power armor....It feels too claustrophobic. :)

This is the first play through where I've spent a bit of time decorating Home Plate. It's much more useful being able to install work benches now and gave me a reason to use the damn thing.

I have it decorated, but I haven't spent a considerable amount of time on it. I mostly use it as a storage house for legendary and unique items, unique outfits, my personal outfits and armor, old holotapes and other misc items and so on. I don't use it a whole lot.

In a future play through though, I think I'm going to skip Concord, and not go there until later on in the game. In that play through, I'm probably going to just use Red Rocket and Home Plate as my personal safehouses and skip on the settlement stuff until I'm closer to the end of the main quest. I'll likely do this play through when the new Survival mode hits.

I never saw the point in it with the ability to make a home in many places around the Commonwealth. Own it, but didn't bother with the place since homes like that have no use in FO4, maybe in FONV/FO3 where you didn't have a build mode to create all kinds of structures out in the waste.
