Although I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing Mr. New Vegas between songs, the songs on New Vegas Radio, and Mojave Music Radio, I've already boggled around some ideas for music to listen to while playing. Kind of a self-made radio idea. This of course isn't limited to music that would exist in the Fallout world, that's too restrictive unless you were aiming for something like that. Like an extended Mojave or New Vegas radio. That's a good idea in itself.
I can say I would be putting the music from FO:3 and NV in this playlist as well, plus more oldies to add to it. Also, I've thought of some others that for me, fit the theme of NV so far. Most are ambient or instrumental anyway.
I mean this was specifically created by Gustavo S. for The Last of Us's atmosphere, but I feel that most of the tracks bring the general "empty apocalyptic world" emotion along by themselves.
Kill Bill Vol.1 & Vol. 2
I know. Wtf? Something about the wild west meets the honor of the east feels right. I guess the blending of the old 50s culture and the actual fallout world we play in makes this feel okay. Some epic battle songs in here, as well as some eerie spoken word. Plus I've wondered since I found out the Katana was a weapon, if I could play as Beatrix Kido in any capacity. It seems possible.
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and etc.
I can't even specify all the songs I would use from my idol here, but the whole album Old Money would play well I feel.
At The Drive-In
A lot of there songs have sci-fi references, eerie focal points, and although it's a little hardcoe for this, a few songs seem right.
I would have to go through ALL of my music collection to figure what would and wouldn't make the cut but these are the ideas that came to me without actually putting it together.
This is all player preference as well. So there is no right or wrong music to listen to if you choose to. So let's discuss what we would (or do) listen to, why, and how we came about listening to it with a Fallout game!
