You just got home from buying TES V....

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:15 am

Where do you go from here?

Since my PC is dead it I will have also bought an Xbox360 the same day and will be setting it up to my 40" Samsung 1080p TV, setting up surround sound. Closing all the curtains, bringing all the duvets in the house into the room, moving chairs and couches around the television providing a sort of mini fortress of comfort and isolation. A weeks worth of beverages, potnoodles, pizzas and other baked goods will be within a 5 foot radios at all times.

What is your pre-gaming ritual?

I would just turn off all the lights, close the blinds, and play the game for an entire weekend, disregarding all attempts of human contact.

Just for a weekend though, I love TES, but I have other things to do as well.

Why, I would install it, and while it was installing disconnect or disable all methods of inbound communication with the outside world. Then I would play it.

Stay out of sunlight playing it inside for 6 months.

Building a spherical room 5m in diameter. Make a custom built spherical TV with a chair in the centre. link up my PS3 to the screen and my Mac. Totally immersed in the world of tamriel.

Take it down to "The Danger Room" (The room where the big screen TV, car-seat couch, and Xbox is) with a 6-pack of Mountain Dew Voltage and a few bags of beef jerky. Yeah, I'm not leaving the house for a while.

Hahaaha, this was very funny :)

I would let my friends and family know that I was not kidnapped by Columbian drug lords or anything like that, so don't send the FBI to find me, I'm just lost in gameplay. I actually physically injured myself playing Morrowind on Xbox when it came out. I played for 24 hours solid, getting up only to go to the bathroom, and the angle of my arm holding the controller like that for so long messed something up in my bicep area. I couldn't straighten my arm for almost a month after that. Hopefully with TESV, I don't get hurt again!

Pot of coffee, smokes, fully charged power packs, send girlfriend on a trip, arranging 2 days off in a row and lots of honey mustard pretzel bites.

That's my pre-game.

If the game is really good there will only be a few smokes gone out of the pack at the end of the 2 day RPG binge. I'm hoping this will be the case for TES V.

Read manual and then bring the game to my sanctuary with a load of snacks I've been saving up along with some cases of Pepsi. Make sure all possible distractions are removed and play the game for a obsene amount of time and thats pretty much it.

I'd get back to work until evening, then after all my other obligations are finished and I wouldn't have any niggling worries, I'd start it up with a fresh mind that's clear and able to fully enjoy itself.

We console gamers don't have to download it!

I would probably have a maelstrom because I would not know whether to play it or go to the forums.

First, I make a bestial sacrifice to appease the gods and ensure that I do not have a faulty disc.

Second, I install it to my 360 harddrive.

Third, I destroy my cell phone and retreat to my man cave.

Finally, I purchase the Twilight box set movies, tie them to a string on a remote control car with a rubberband attached to the remote to ensure the women in my life will have something to do other than irritate the hell out of me!!

Tell my bro to turn off the Halo music and come up with a bad excuse for my coach as to why I've been missing practice.

Immediately play it, or if I'm unable to get to the TV because my fiancé needs to see some worthless reality show, than I'll reed the manual instead.

Well I've requested a weeks vacation and am playing every waking moment. If it's the same as FO:NV, I've got it through Steam. Have a Q9450, HD5970 and 2048x1156 monitor so I'm sure I'll manage with my current rig. Will play at work on my laptop after the 1st week.
