Oh no, dont get me started on that stupid "karmic consequences" crap that made such a faction with such potential like Talon Company into generic "bad guy" cannon fodder.

Agreed and it would give karma a bit more meaning or even say ceaser legion hit men attacks you if you're friendly with the ncr and vise versa just add a bit more randomness and they both fail to count you as a priority the guy who had the platinum chip and has the power to change the mojave they should try persuade you for there benefit or send hit men to kill you regularly .@ mako so it could have been implemented better in fo3 it's still a good idea.

Karma shouldn't directly effect people, Reputation is what is real and physical, and we have Reputation consequences, at best Karma makes people in general dislike you, but it doesnt miraculously send hitmen after you.

Those hitmen in Fallout 3 should have come after you as a result of proceeding along the main quest not because you liked helping people, and the Regulators because you bumped someone notable off, not for petty thieving. It was a good idea though and their appearance was better implemented than the Assassins you rarely if ever get to see in New Vegas.
Although the rangers don't seem to have too much trouble tracking you down, but then again the Rangers seem to be invisible to the Legion there's no hostility there at all from either party. Which is a bit off.

Yes but only if you have negative reputation not say for karma alliance and say if im the ncr's biggest fan i should get hunted by the legion for it.

karma defines pretty much if you're a saint or satin it should have a big influence. What if in real life a guy walked up to you who was a known thief and and a general menace or if a saint walked up wouldn't you act differently in each situation. And the police in real life are those miraculous hitmen (to an extent) :/ and it should if you're at the extremes like it did in fo3.

Yeah, but you lose karma anyway if you steal. You don't get to be known thief, if anyone doesn't catch you stealing anything.

You could say the same for the reputation system do something bad against the ncr and they all instantly know doesn't matter how petty it may be.

The system isn't perfect but lot more credible than the karma system was. If you do favor for rivaling faction and gain some reputation in their ranks by doing so, it's gonna be a lot worse from the another faction's viewpoint. So I feel it some how reflects that better, even though it has it's weak points.

But how would the opposite faction find out eg. say clear the road road for caravans at the mojave out post but the fort instantly knows there both as bad as each other. But reputation is judging a book by it's cover karmas judging a book by whats inside.

It would be cool to have more random attacks in the game but not to the extent it was in fallout 3, I swear you would think after awhile talon company would cut its losses and just give up, same for the regulators.

I actually have this on my wishlist on this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1162622-future-dlc-suggestions-7/

Spoiler
"Please add in assassins or bounty hunters for each faction if we piss them off.
Like these:
Powder Gangers.
NCR.
Legion.
Khans.
Houses Securitrons. (Yes they'll go outside of Vegas/Freeside.
Kings. (Yes they'll go outside of Vegas/Freeside.
Van Graffs. (If you slaughter the store then Jean Baptiste and Glorias mother will send her own assassins after you)
Nightkin. (Black Mountain, kill them off then you'll get Nightkin after you/Kill Keene)
Fiends. (Yes add a reputation bar with them, I know it can only go down.)
Boomers. (If you kill Pearl and Loyal)
Brotherhood Of Steel. (If you kill even one of their soldiers)
Gun Runners.
Crimson Caravan.
White Glove
Omerta.
Tops.

I know it's a long list but I really think there should be more to it if we piss off a faction."

The fiend rep bar should be just with the Vault 3 fiends. That way we could get on there good side of their bad side.

Having House send securitrons after you if your working for the ncr or legion to try and stop you and get the chip platinum chip back from you would be cool, I always thought it was weird that if he was watching you he wouldnt try to stop you before you come to kill him.

your confusing Karma and reputation there. Karma is not public knowledge. So a "known" thief means his "REPUTATION" is that of a thief. Karma is only a Raw judge of your action accounted by the omnipresent arbiter that tallies point for each dead you do reguardless of your "intentions."

The big downside with Talon Company, and to a lesser extent the regulators, was they where begging to be abused (farmed for caps and equipment) strait into the ground.

The one team the Legion sends drops around 4,500 caps worth of loot selling at a modest barter skill, so it's easy to see why there is only one.
