a lot of ppl love fallout's music being played on the radio....but even thoes ppl have disliked music in the game......it would be pretty convenient if you could scavenge/buy holotapes of the music that are heard on the radio signals.........,so if the radio had a song on that the player disliked he could play 1 of the holotapes, so the player could listen to all his fav songs at anytime

Hmmm...yeah I like that idea. There have been times where I was really wanting to hear "Blue Moon" or something and it seemed like it would never come on.

Plus it would be awesome to play a song that fit a moment in the game perfectly, like for instance walking down the streets of Freeside in an NCR ranger trenchcoat and a .357 magnum at your side and you start playing "Big Iron".

Or if when you met Benny for the first time after he shot you and you start playing "Ain't That a Kick in the Head".

I think people hated the NV music because it is bugged and play Johnny Guitar every second song, not to mention Mr New Vegas' intermission is too frequent yet lack of substance.

That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. Slaughtering people while ''Ain't that a Kick in the Head'' is playing is one of the most fun experiences in this game,but I've only had it playing once while I was actually slaughtering people...

I sit next to my computer when playing New Vegas (computer screen and tv screen on same table.) and I have this mystical thing called Spotify.
Seriously though, if you don't like the music then plug in an Ipod or MP3, kick up a CD player or a boombox, start your winamp, VLC, WMP or Spotify.

Not to be the barer of bad tidings, but I think the could have focused on way way way way way more important things. IMO

Not a bad idea, actually. Was, randomly, watching a documentary of the 50's, when "i dont want to set the world on fire" came on, and i started singing along, and the missus looked at me as if i was crazy. Argh. Moments like these make me regret selling NV...

The songs are in the game.
You don't like them then listen to music from your own library.
Or mod it.
Songs is the least of their worries as the solution to fix it is incredibly easy for everyone, including console users.

Or you could have the ol epic fix n fun combo of looking for the holotapes and they actually have a use.

They would have to aquire the license to use the music though which would cost money, that means they would have to release a DLC, this means they've spent money and time on a DLC that is quite pointless since all the users have to do is look up some 50's artists on spotify.

Seems even more pointless since you don't have to search for new songs.
Just look up Jingle Jangle on Youtube and replay it all you like.

Part of the fun would be looking for them.And it would be far superior to bring up the pipboy and select a song.

Thats not quite what the point is though, I would have liked this option in Fallout 3 and I absolutely love every song in it (I like the ones in NV too but there's a couple I can't stand).

The point is that you would be able to play the songs you want any time you would want too, through buying and scavenging. Pick-up holotape- play holotape kind of thing. That way you don't have to listen through some of the songs you don't like and can play a song you love whenever you want and at time when you think the game mood fits perfectly with the song.

Yes you can look them up on youtube, but.....well so? Would be nice to be able to do that in-game as well.

Maybe you could even run a collect- em all kind of thing, and give the "song holotapes" record- images (in other words if you drop the "song" you get an object that looks like the song's record cover). Then use them to spruce up your house.

You could just download the songs on your MP3/Ipod/USB and insert it into your PS3/360 and play it there.

Whenever my computer is on the fritz I do it with my USB stick so I can listen to my own music.
And if you play on the computer then just press ALT+TAB to the music player and change song there.

I still find no reason to add this in, there is already an easy enough solution for this.
If you want this feature to be in FO4 then suggest it in it's thread, but I see no reason to do it for NV since the game is already done.
I'd rather they spent those extra 20 minutes of coding on a quest or NPC script than something there already is a clear solution for.

1. Dunno, I don't really download stuff anymore, I just listen to spotify, the library I have on my USB are from songs I have ripped from my CD collection.
Could probably download them for free somewhere though, legally.
Hmm, you could always keep bookmarks on the songs on youtube for PS3, use Spotify for PC.
Dunno about Xbox though...

If it's a "what if" thread then I really don't care, they should've remodeled ghouls and super mutants IMO to their original appearances, had SPECIAL been more important and had more quests in each town.
But what they "should have" done doesn't really matter now, so I don't see a point to discussing a "what if" scenario.

I like the Music in both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I rarely play the radio. In both games, for me it grows old fast. I like walking into a room and hearing the songs on the radio.

It would have been good to have a quest to find song but there can't be that many songs because music costs money. The most well known songs from the 50s still cost an arm and leg.

Not saying the OP's idea is bad.

I am glad they came up with original music for the game and there is a quest to get the man that sings them. Fallout 3 had original music as well but it was violin and I don't know classical music that well so I am only guessing that it was original. I am not sure if you have to pay the Mozart estate royalties.

I think it is a good idea for DLC which i would be willing to pay up to 10 dollars for. BUT, for my 10 dollars i want the songs from FO3 as well and i would like them fed into the existing radio broadcasts. Barring that it could be DLC that adds a new radio station, or if nothing else the game would create a folder in the FONV directory and all the player has to do is place the MP3s of thier choice there and by switching on a specific radio station in the PIP boy the player could hear anything in that folder. I cannot remember which game did something like that it was one of the GTAs i think San Andreas but that was many many fingers of single malt ago and what too few braind cells i have not killed off yet are working over time to keep the breathing thing going lolz. But you guys should know what i am talking about regarding the MP3 in game player.

At this point paying 10 dollars for the songs would appeal to me as i am still hunting the Dave Barbour/Peggy Lee version of Why Dont You Do right. I have 3 different cds at a cost of almost 60 dollars i bought of Peggy Lee's version of "Why Dont You Do Right" but what i have gotten is Peggy Lee with Benny Goodman instead, the difference is take Black Dog by Led Zepplin and instead the Backstreet Boys hack on it (yea it is bloody criminal to even consider, hence my quandry). I know it is not a big deal but i like the FONV version with Dave Barbour on guitar better than the Benny Goodman version. The Barbour version seems a bit cattier and for my femme fatales (all of my FO3 and FONV characters are female) it fits more with the personality i envision. Kind of like a Sharon Stone from the Quick and the Dead the tough "flunk with me and your dead" chick as opposed to the weepy (my [censored] is leaking) i broke a finger nail type.

So if i can get the Dave Barbour/Peggy Lee Version of Why Dont You Do Right for 10 bucks and it plays when i want in the game, actually as suggested any song for that matter, then it is a deal let me know Bethesda when this is ready.
