You know, after all these CW threads, I have to say that the CW would be a really moot point if the Thalmor regime wound up collapsing on itself without outside influence. For instance, imagine if the next game took place in Summerset Isles and you wound up leading a rebellion that destroyed the Thalmor and collapsed the Aldmeri Dominion.

How would you feel if the CW was rendered moot if the Thalmor were destroyed without outside influence?

Wouldn't it be a moot point anyways?
I was under the impression that the outcome of the Civil War wouldn't matter outside of Skyrim since, y'know, it's a civil war. Well, other than the fact that the Empire loses another Province, anyways.

It would be hilarious if it turns out the Dominion's influence grew even more powerful, though, and no matter who won the civil war, the Dominion would go into Skyrim and take over again.

Yeah, but since most Imperial supporters say they support the Empire since they think Skyrim can't survive without the Empire or the Empire is the only way to defeat the Thalmor, I was wondering how they would react if the Thalmor regime wound up getting destroyed from the inside.

I'd be a bit disappointed to be honest. It seems like a rather likely outcome honestly, but it would be anticlimactic.

At this point, even as an Empire 'supporter', I think the Thalmor being destroyed from the inside is probably the only way for it to go. I don't have much confidence in either side, tbh, and I would definitely like to see a merish empire, so long as it doesn't turn out to be the Ayleids 2.0 and there's no plans for metaphysical annihilation. Besides, they can't have one side being canon, can they?
