You know you play too much TES when...

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:37 pm

Freaky enough, that actually HAS happened to me a few times...
Sometimes I wish there was a "undo"-button or something IRL :P

Yeah, but that would ruin the whole "life is unfair" concept, you can undo tests, undo pretty much anything, it would be like a planet full of CHIM

You know you're playing too much Elder Scrolls when you keep an ingame diary instead of a real-world one (guilty)

Pft. Argonians and Khajiit are second class citizens.

You know you play too much TES when you try to open your door and realize it's locked, and wait for the incredible "HALT!" monster to come bring you down.

...you call people "muthsera". I actually do this quite a lot, too. It is a normal part of my vocabulary now.

Thinking you can sneak around by just crouching .

Have you ever tried sneaking while standing?
It's hard as hell!

Actually sneaking while standing is much easier than when crouching, if you see a walking person, it's ordinary you don't pay much attention to it, now see a person crouching, aren't you going to think "WTH is he doing?!" See when standing, people don't know that you are sneaking, so you are sneak-sneaking, very deep.

...when you regularly say "by the nine"

You do that too?!? :embarrass: :biglaugh:

It reminds me of a line I could not help but pick up the first time I read The Fellowship Of The Rings - Everytime something shocked me I'd quote Gandalf with the rather funky phrase "Well, well, bless my beard!".

Thankfully Oblivion came along not long after... I think my Wife was getting a bit sick of my beard blessing. Now however I get the feeling she'd like to meet this 'nine' I keep swearing by and give them a damn good thrashing.

...when you're trying to find someone with the last name "Septim" on a voting card

...when you start every conversation with a foreigner "Hello, outlander..."

...when instead of "Hi man" you use "Warrrrmly grrreeted frrrriend"

...when you walk into a church and ask where are the altars of the Nine

...when you call people you don't like "N'wah"

honestly, I could go on like this forever...

oh!

...when you can go on like this forever:P

When you ask your university teacher where he got his recommendations from.

When you put "Fighters Guild Apprentice" on your CV

When you wear a burglar's mask in a shop and realize that people are indeed scared of the Gray Fox. And that, strangely, the beggars are afraid of you.

When you ask the beggars where you can find the Gray Fox.

When you see "MW" on a car's plate and immediately think of Morrowind.

When you ask a local village living near a volcano if they are subject to odd dreams, or if they know if Dagoth Ur can be found inside.

When you dress with a black robe and hood, and wake up someone random at the dorms, telling them that they sleep rather soundly for a murderer.

When Ria Silmane appears in your own dreams, telling you to continue playing Arena and stop Jaghar Tharn.

I'm tempted to ask a begger that next time I go into town, just for comedy reasons... :D

Knowing my luck Grey Fox will end up being street slang for top grade heroin.

When its dark out and you try to use night eye.

When you go swimming in a lake and try to use Water Breathing spell.

When you put Lvl 13 High Elf, Mage's Guild Evoker on your job resumes. (Or whatever your character may be but the High Elf is just an example)

When you call your cat a Khajiit.

When you and your friends do Oblivion roleplay in your backyard.

When you have a history project for school, you write about the history of Cyrodiil.

When you are in jail and try to serve your time in a single night of rest.

When your about to take a test and you try to "Absorb Intelligence" on a nearby classmate.

Eh thats all i got... for now hahaha!!!!

With this I'll add :

When you purchase Morrowind/Oblivion a second time, may it be a GOTY edition, a second copy or simply because you don't like the system you're playing on.

* "Second time" can be replaced by "Third", "Fourth" and so on. :P

Heh, I know I'll never do that.

When you realize the only friends you have are in Tamriel and on the Bethesda forums.

When you wake up in the middle of the night because you had a great idea for a new character to make and want to get started on them.

When you play the game without turning it on because you know the games that well.

When you call military ppl the Imperial Legion or call cops Imperial Guards.

When you love this thread.

More to come when I think of them.
