You know your having problems waiting for Skyrim when......

Post » Sun Apr 04, 2010 5:11 am

im doing fine. i just casted a "not-be-hyped-up-about-skyrim" spell on self. it doesnt wear out until about 10 days before it comes out.

ahh... that, or im going insane.

Same here, I did that with New Vegas, and I forgot all about it until like a week before release, then my friend said, "Hey New Vegas is coming out next week" and it was like.... Well kinda like what happens to Megaton if you blow it up, or the Imperial City at the end of Oblivion.

Yes the game was announced last month on the 11th, exactly 11 months away from the release date. Just throwing that out there.

Thank you I am also having problems waiting for Skyrim because I am counting and recounting all 10months and 11 days till Skyrim over and over again and asking myself, how it can come out on a Friday since most games in USA come out Tuesday, not getting anything out of it but still counting.

when you explore the map in Just cause 2 looking for a dungeon.

when you try and roleplay in splinter cell.

when you use imagine fallout is set in TES universe but 1000 years into the future (seriously Ive done this, with the various monsters its not much of a stretch)

when you RP one character through morrowind/oblivion/fallout 3 involving lots of disc changing and some elaborate make beleive time travel plot. *ahem*

when you play oblivion over and over again hoping that it will tide you over until the next game comes out. and you gaze at yourself in the mirror and start slipping slowly into madness...

All true for me:

#1 - You find yourself muttering/humming/singing the Nordic song from the end of the reveal to yourself randomly.

#2 - You're wondering which, if any, of your existing characters you'll be able to properly make for Skyrim. You're plotting out various ideas in advance.

#3 - You intend to go out and buy the Skyrim issue of GameInformer, even though that means driving two towns away to get to a GameStop.

#4 - You're playing older ES games to tide you over until you have Skyrim.

#5 - You know you're going to squee out loud when you first see the screens of the game.

Endlessly check Forums when you're not playing Morrowwin, Oblivion, FO3 and New Vegas.

I supposed you could say I'm replaying Oblivion in anticipation of Skyrim, but then it's not like I ever really stopped....

I'll also be picking up TW2, although I'm not that desperate as to import it overnight. Might get it this month or next depending on free time/other games coming out (will likely buy Dead Space 2 next).

And then there's my game backlog, as well as all the other titles coming out between now and 11-11-11 (Deus Ex: Human Revolution being my second most anticipated)....

And yet, despite all these great distractions, I'm still looking forward to the february issue of Game Informer more than anything else right now :)

ditto, i created a Nord just to get the feel of it. Been so long since i last played that i'm having to look through for some decent mods. So far only having trouble with a decent home mod, as i don't want to use the one i've always used.

When you start drawing depictions of possible themes of Skyrim on your bedroom wall. The decision to use my owd blood instead of conventional paint probably sets me aside from the rest. I thought about using other bodily fluids but I do not want to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act prior to the games release.
