Love how the poll has everyone below 31 in groups but as soon as you go over that age you don't matter, LOL! Even though 31+ is the biggest group according to this terrible poll.

I'm in my 30s myself, but I should point out I am not a long-time Fallout fan; the only game in the series I have any real experience with is New Vegas; a game I purchased and played through just last year. As a result, my perspective is more inline with that of a new player than someone who has been following the series since the begining. So far, I haven't had any issues with Fallout 4 nor have I found it to be lacking in features or gameplay elements that I enjoy. This is not to say it's a perfect product, certainly I'd agree power armor seems a little easy to come by and the voiced protagonist adds additional constraints to dialogue that are not necessarilly beneficial, but I have no reason to complain. I find exploring this world to be as engaging as I did with Skyrim or Morrowind, I spend most of my time just wandering the wastes without any particular goal in mind. I suppose for me world immersion is one of the more important things I look for in a game like this, more so than quest quality or depth, so perhaps I'm more forgiving than other people might be in those areas as well.
It seems to me, at least from what I know of the situation that there is a pretty big disconnect between Bethesda's interest in building a game that will appeal to new players (and modern audiences) and the bulk of the fanbase which is looking for a more traditional approach - truer, I'd imagine, to the past installments as a whole. I can respect that being a cause for concern, honestly. I'm just not able to share it with any degree of passion. I like the product I've got, if they change it to be truer to what came before that will be fine with me - just the same as if they keep it the way it is. It will be interesting therefore to see how things go with whatever DLC and expansions Besthesda will churn out for Fallout 4 in the next year or so. Might want to come back in November of 2016 and see if the needle has moved any as regards this controversy.
Well that does make sense. If you like or even love the game you are probably going to be spending time playing it not on a message board unless you are like me and are at work. If you are angry and want to vent what better place to be than here.
I was going to say the same thing. It's as though some people think that no one past the age of 30 plays video games.
20 years of age - Never even heard of Fallout or knew of its origins until Fallout 3 released and that game stole my social life for some time, haha.
After New Vegas was announced I started looking more into the Fallout lore and discovered the game's origins and the original two. I attempted Fallout 1 but hated the isometric, turn-based combat. Around 2014 I went back played through Fallout 1 and 2 and realized just how deep and incredible they are. They gave me a while new perspective on the FO universe.
I love the original two the most now, mostly for their quality writing, complex RPG elements, music, and overall atmosphere. So, despite the many flaws of Fallout 3, I still love the game for introducing me to the series and an amazing fantasy world.
Now, I enjoy Fallout 4 but I can't help but compare its features to those of the first two titles and realize how many steps backwards Beth took when it comes down to certain RPG aspects - The dialogue primarily. However, Fallout 4 does an incredible job with overall atmosphere which is only possible through the quality soundtrack by Inon Zur.
Hmm, I also find the more clean and tame tone of the Commonwealth to be disappointing though. A main gripe of mine is the lack of Slavers and slavery. This title lacks the dark humor and dark/twisted aspects of previous titles.
I'm 58 years young and yes, I like Fallout 4. I'd say, "I love it!" if I could see my dialogue options instead of yes, no, maybe, or why.
I did explain it in post before more or less. Where I try to be more precise about my opinion on Fallout 4. But to your questions... well, you can look at a game, bad one or good one, I know there is more options to that but lets make it simple. So I like it as a game, it means it is good game. But I was expecting better environment, better story, better quests and more options for players in Fallout series game. Fallout 4 feels more like after earthquake than nuclear war. In other words, its good game, but not as far as Fallout successor should be. That is why I said I am not looking at it as Fallout. Because If I should rate it as Fallout game successor, I would give it 2/10. Thats why I also said ,, I dont like Fallout 4. ′′ And I didn′t say ,, I am not looking at Fallout as a game. ′′
You are a rare breed indeed and I wholeheartedly applaud your tenacity and willingness to learn new systems in order to discover the roots of the franchise.
Well it is anonymous. And I just want to know what age are people playing this game and if they like it or not. Pretty simple. I know shame on me I made 31+, didn′t expect it.
39 and loving the game, but I'm sure once I turn 40 next year and maturity will finally kick in I'll start to see the game for what it really is.
I only post anymore when I'm snacking at the PC or just after I do some financials or such otherwise I'm playing.
58 here and loving it. Played every TES form Morrowind on and FO3 and FONV ( by far my least favorite of the bunch)
Well, that's because only 10% felt so strongly about their dislike that they voted that way. I suspect many of us fall into the middle ground between love and hate but there really isn't an option for "like with caveats". That's why most of us voted "like" and then qualified our votes with informational posts on the aspects we don't much like.
In the end, everyone who bought the game did so because on some level, the Fallout experience is something we enjoy. We like this developer, we like this franchise, and overall, we like to play these games. That doesn't mean we can't be critical of it. This isn't all or nothing. We can like the game and still have concerns about the overall direction or specific systems.

I'm getting super bored of it now and only... 47ish hours in. It doesn't help 5 hours of that was working around glitches and quest blockers.
Hail the CD Project Red and Witcher 3 Baby!
I find knowing what ages like what quite interesting and if I don't fine it "ageist" nobody should.
I haven't voted in the poll because I've still not been able to play the game but I can't wait to be able to add my vote and I so hope I like it. From those here that have played, I'm really getting antsy to play it myself.
Hah you can see the exact time in which intelligence matures and then starts to decay based on this poll.
I like FO4, but not without its criticisms.
I do like a lot about the game. I like the mod system. wish there was greater ability to craft actual weapons/armor and not just the mods. I don't even get to craft the junk jet or shishkebab or junk jet!
I'm kind of torn really. At times I really enjoy the game, other times I feel it lacks elements which made Fallout 3 stand out. I feel the quests this time round are considerably weaker, particularly the writing of the main quest.
But I do enjoy modding weapons, purposeful scavenging this time round (not just to amass caps) and the core mechanics seem a lot more polished.
Edit: 31 plus, yes
I'm 16 and like this game. Still tons of stuff they need to improve on.
When they say a game is rated "M for Mature", I prefer it to be interpreted as "You have to be a mature player." Age doesn't mean much for maturity, and it really bothers me when people think that I'm intellectually restrained because of my age, good sir.
