Do you like Fallout 4 ?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 3:15 am

It's not a dang car; it is a $60 video game... If on console people can sell it for near $50. I know PC is different though.

If people spend a few hours complaining they could have been working during that time and made that $60 up in just a few hours.

If people used logic this world would be a better place. Bethesda doesn't listen to most complaints because they have over a billion dollars rolling in for the game and the holidays haven't even hit yet.

The haters are wasting their breath. People with LEGITAMATE concerns SHOULD post thier issues or contact the developer. I am simply saying people that flat our hate or don't care for the game need to move on and stop runining the game for everyone else. Some people live and revel in thier own misery.

I'm 25 and thoroughly enjoying Fallout 4. Am I disappointed with certain aspects? Well yes. Dialogue is limited, although I do like the voiced protagonist. Not showing whole lines in the selection wheel is annoying, but now fixed with a mod. While I'm loving the customisation the actual weapon variety is somewhat limited.

All that said I NEVER expect a game to be perfect. From what I've played so far this game is great fun with a lot to do. I'm looking forward to spending the next few months completely obsessing about the Commonwealth and returning frequently over the next few years. It's far from perfect, but it's much, much better than most other games out there at the moment.

Yes, I do.

I think Fallout 4 is a good RPG/FPS game and it will hold me for some time. That said, I also think Fallout has turned from gamer's game into stockholder's game. It is half made and is heavily dependent on Fallout hype. I would give it 7/10.

Considering the nature of a fair number of these complaints , I hope they're at the very least, very selective. There do seem to be a fair number of very disgruntled, won't let it go. types here though. Probably fewer than it seems because they're so omnipresent

Well, allow me to enlighten you then.

Most of the "complainers", as some people like to call them, are long time fans of the series, and we're not just buying a $60 game that we plan to play for 30 hours, "beat the game", and then sell it on for $40, the end. We're buying an experience, probably hundreds, if not thousands, of hours, just like we spent on Fallout 3, FONV and TES. We will be around long after most casual and serial gamers who love this game have moved on, even if we're complaining now. We're the people Bethesda talk about when they state that they support the modding community. We're the ones that eventually fix 90% of the issues with this game to make it playable and a better experience. A lot of the things you enjoy in FO4 are ideas taken from people like that, from these boards, or from mods made for previous Fallout or TES. I recognize many features from mods I've enjoyed from previous games.

Think of it as supporting your local sporting team. They may svck at times, but they're your team dammit, and you'll stick with them through thick and thin cause you know things will improve at some point. Same with a new pair of pants. They may not fit at first, but somehow you break them in and eventually they become your favorite pair of pants.

The reason people are disappointed is because Beth could've done so much better with the time they put into this, and some of the decisions they've made are unfortunately inherent to the game and can't really be fixed by mods. I shouldn't say "can't", but at least it will be a long time and require some really dedicated and skilled modders, but it's hard to fix a lacking feeling.

Maybe think a thought further than just "OMG these people constantly complain!" These are the people that get things done. They're fans and real fans don't just quit.

Fallout 4 is an amazing game with some fatal flaws. Namely, the continued use of Gamebryo the "Creation Engine" and the lack of PC friendly support.

Hmm, can't quote

@Dr. Tinde -

Haha, appreciated.

It was the same situation for me with the Elder Scrolls. Oblivion is the game that introduced me to the series and I loved that game and the world of Tamriel. I later discovered Morrowind and purchased it. Played through it and Bloodmoon - When Skyrim was announced I started up Arena. Though, I did quit quite a few times with the starter dungeon. I did complete it though.

I guess that says something about Beth games though. I love the worlds and lore that they craft, so much so I push myself through much older titles. Eventually, I'm going to start hitting some classics like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

I loved Fallout 2. I like Fallout 4 - I spent quite an enjoyable time playing the main plot. But, seriously, Bethesda: how many new games you will be creating using the same, old engine, introduced in "grandpa Morrowind"? This game should look better.

Dude take it easy its a game play it our dont but come on this is all your opinion and you have every right to it but you state it like its fact and everyone who doesnt agree is some sort of wally, "true to the spirit of what fallout is" in your opinion and what you think the spirit of fallout is may not be what i think the spirit of fallout is and thats fine but you state that those who enjoy FO4 are intellectually challenged but i counter that the guy who dolls out insults based on peoples taste in a game is the one who could be percieved as intellectually and maybe socially challenged.

@Phoss - being a long time fan does not in the slightest make your opinion of the current game more important or valid then anyone else's and that is what i get from the "complainers" (not you as such but 99% of complaint posts) i get an air of self entitlement, like i played from game one so what i say should be done and the people who didnt start at game one have no right to talk. All these complaints are your opinions but for some reason because you played fallout 1 your opinions are gospel, it dont work like that. If the long time fans dont make mods then the new fans will and they will be just as good and have just as much bearing on the future of the series as the old mods did. Its just a game in the end and it seems to be doing bloody good in the current market despite what the "true" fallout fans seem to say.

Also booing your fav sports team during bad times is not motivation is only detrimental to the team spirit and morale and just brings them down coz they are probably doing their best and all you are doing right now is booing really really loud!!

Now that's exactly what I don't get. Could anyone put hundreds of hours into Fallout 3 without being able to mentally gloss over the many flaws and IMO, not really a lot of replay value?

Usually with the aids of mods to fix stuff they didn't like and to add more stuff to do.

The same will happen again. And you can already get mods to see the full dialogue lines before selecting and to mute your voice on PC. Definitely the main points of criticism. That will eventually come to consoles too.

Absolutely loved Fallout 3. For me Fallout New Vegas is what Hardline currently is in the Battlefield Franchise.

Luckily Fallout 4 feels just as good as Fallout 3! The atmospheres in Fallout 3 & 4 feel very much alike!

I think the developpers of Fallout 3 & 4 are doing a better job then those who made New Vegas.

Played it at a friends house. I got bored after a couple or hours because it seemed like i did it all before. Makes me wonder how many Fallout games they can keep making. From 3 to 4 they seem to be the same game to me.

I don't think anyone ever said their opinion was worth more than yours? Whatever "air" you get is on you, mate.

If no one speaks up when things are bad, why would anyone care to fix it? Just sitting back and accepting mediocrity is not exactly productive. Granted, not all criticism on here is constructive, but these are early days, the game has only been out for a week, so you're likely to see frustration at this point and not so much constructive criticism.

Fallout 3 fully modded was definitely a way better experience than Vanilla. Same will happen here.

The mods are deleting posts now so watch what you talk about. This thread was a really good discussion but it should probably wind down if it's gotten the attention of mods.

I see 2 posts that were removed for discussion of child killing, which has been against the rules since Fallout 3.

This thread has already had our attention - both Summer and I have already posted in here a couple times. ;)

You sir certainly did not imply your opinions are of a higher value and i did bracket a note so not to direct at you, however i do find and you must see it to that most people who fall into the "complainers" category are outright spoilt brats and by writing air i was being nice, most posts the self importance and self entitlement cannot be hidden insults fly from some members when someone new to the series says something and thats just plain wrong.

I also think the chap you addressed was referring more to the posters i mention above then a post like yours and its my bad if i didn't make that clear in my reply!

Also speak up for sure when things are bad but thats not at all whats happening on this forum its just booing as far as i can see and sure im frustrated at some elements in this game but that dont give me the right to call people and i quote again "intellectually challenged" does it. Speak up about bugs not mechanics of the game, sure state you dislike a certain mechanic over an old mechanic thats fine but dont state it over and over and over on every post (again not you)

No one new or old modder or not holds any weight over any others and thats how it should be.

I'm well past age 31. To say that I "like" this game is a ridiculous understatement.

I think it's fine to complain when you've bought and paid for a product that does not meet the expectations. And this is Bethesda's official forum after all, so what better place to do that? There are plenty of other fora, I'm sure, which may have less complainers, I dunno.

Can't disagree that everyone's opinion should hold equal weight, no argument there. But complaining about the complainers, what is that then? =)
