Attributes and classes are restrictive. Best thing Beth did was kill them. They won't be missed. Thank you Beth.

I certainly agree. Classes couldn't have been more restrictive. Now we can do as we please (like a sandbox RPG is supposed to be).

I'm rather indifferent to classes, but the attributes had a lot of rp value in them, they just needed to be better used. Axing them is the easy way out.

i dont really like classes but i loved that little desciption you got in oblivion, it was just so cool thats the only thing i will really miss. I dont mind either way with attributes, it will be very interesting to see how beth handle the decision to remove them

I agree, classes were restrictive, I'm still iffy about the attributes being taken away, but I've been convinced they're not bad, thanks Dragonborn1. I'll have to wait until Skyrim is out before I decide whether I like it or not.

EDIT: I do agree with classes being gone, but there is something I'll miss. I kind of liked taking a class to help me play a role better, and feel like "A Knight? Ya, that's me." but, I won't miss that too much.

No, I don't like them being removed.

Simple reason really: it dumbs down the game even more, which I am not a fan of.

Classes I think we are better off without. For attributes I don't know how the new system will address their loss, so I can't vote yes/no until I get to play it.

I think it was a bad decision, I hope the new system will work just fine but for me RPG with 3 attributes is a sign of first person shooterizing an RPG. In the future we might expect 18 redundant skills combined into 3 big skills: the thief, the mage, the warrior and I'm sure a lot of people will praise the "modern" approach.

You might consider adding a 'not sure' option to both.

I am certain I won't miss the classes, but I'm not so sure about the attributes thing. ( Mostly because there's been no info about where the numbers went, things like carry weight, health multiplier, stamina multiplier, etc.) It seems to me that attributes did a little more than just affect your skills and we have heard nothing about how the changes will affect these things.

No/no. I did not think classes were restrictive--especially since you could create your own class. I am looking forward to seeing how they have done things differently this time.

my take on what the system works like:

attributes like strength, athletics and etc are now merged with the 3 core attributes and 18 skills, what i mean is, attributes have gone from being directly manipulated by the player to being indirectly manipulated.

examples:
-your character becoming stronger by increasing martial skills (one handed, two handed and hand to hand) mimicking the "strength" attribute
-your character being able to sprint or hold his breath for a longer period of time by increasing the core attribute of stamina mimicking the "athletics" attribute.
-your character becoming more persuasive by increasing the speechcraft skill mimicking the "personality" attribute.

Attributes and classes are restrictive.

Sometimes there is need restriction for better roleplaying having no restrictions it similar to not have scenario and stage director for theater or movie, but such restrictions must be well done just like work of good director or well written scenario.
Besides there is introduced perk limit and skills will not go over 100, encumbrance limit still work so restrictions still here you cannot run away from them.
Best thing Beth did was kill them.

Well Attributes wasn't killed accordingly to Todd words they was in game at some stage then become folded into parameters, your hate to attributes and classes is unlogical for me, if they was implemented in flawed way thats problem of implementation not of feature.
They won't be missed.

I think thats just like yours opinion man, I will miss them every time when model new feature for game, since they was fundamental.

I don't care much about classes. I'd like to see an option to assign a name to a character "class" so that one can still make a knight or a paladin or a ronin or whatever, but beyond that, it's fine. I can still play a character as I intended to play him, so I don't think anything was lost.

I think attributes added to the game, and I think that improving them so that they added even more would've been the right thing to do. Removing them is, in my opinion, a step in the wrong direction. Inherent differences between characters is, in my opinion, a good thing that adds a great deal of roleplay spice.

Yes, Yes. We know so little about the game that we cannot judge their decision yet. Those who say they hate it and it's a stupid idea are just being nieve. I trust whatever they have chosen, and only once I play the game will I judge their choice.

This.

But I chose yes and yes because I think it will be more enjoyable for gameplay and RPing.

Wow, I've checked this poll three times and all three times the yes's and no's were equal for both. I think people are answering the same for both, which really goes to show that there are 2 types of people voting, geniuses and... other people. Not gonna say who's who. :P JK, I'm just having fun :P

But it is interesting:

1st check Yes = 9 No = 4

2nd check Yes = 9 No = 6

3rd check Yes = 21 No = 17

For classes I don't really care, I always made a custom one, but regarding attributes I must see what they are now and how exactly they melt into perks. I may or may not be disapointed.

I NEED MY ATTRIBUTES. Worst thing beth have ever done removing them. No classes is also terrible, I loved the 10 skill lvl system and beth hav said more and more lvled skills r needed as you progress. Just killed the levelling system for me, and my hype
