Do you like visual design of elder scrolls online?

Post » Sun Mar 02, 2014 9:06 pm

I saw several screen shot of game visual.

Actually say, I felt big shock.... It looks like a " Disney land".

It's a far from Skyrim image... The mood is not advlt feeling.

How do you feel of visual TES online ? Is it OK or Not ?

I love the visuals, far from ' Disney ' to me.

Disneyland? Not sure what you're looking at but I saw some beautiful landscapes. Maybe show us the screenshots that disturb you the most.

I'm pleased. It isn't up to "Skyrim" standards... but it can't be. It's an MMO, not a single-player game.

My first thought was that the exteriors felt at least as good as Morrowind's, possibly Oblivion. The environments vary, as they should, given they're covering all the provinces and you start in a layer of Oblivion.

What, exactly, is it about the screenshot that "is not advlt feeling"?

I disagree that the game looks like Disneyland. Yes, I like the visuals very much. And: Not all of Tamriel is Skyrim ... or Skyrim is not all of Tamriel.

But maybe you should reserve judgment until you see more than photos?

I don't know where you got that "disney" feeling from. for me It's incredibly nice and I'd argue one of the best looking MMO's made as they went for a realistic art style rather than a cartoony or kiddy one.

also, I disliked where they went with skyrim, the entire game felt cold, bleak and depressing. I guess maybe thats what they were going for with the location, but I MUCH prefered the colorfulness of oblivion in everything from Atmosphere to locations to music.

I would say it is above mmo standard.

The art is gorgeous not "disneylandish" more contradicting it.

I really like the environments. It's interesting though that my wife is a bit disappointed; she was hoping for a bit more of a whimsical look to things since it's an MMORPG. Then again, she liked Hibernia in DAoC just because of lurikeens.

I love the visuals. I am glad it is not skyrim-ish, as I personally felt skyrim was rather weak in terms of visuals. The monsters seemed more like clay to me and the scenery was bland. I prefered Oblivion, oddly enough. Maybe it was because the 'snow snow everywhere!' thing bored me in terms of the scenes. And the game itself bored me to tears. I couldn't even get through the main quest, unlike Morrowind and Oblivion with my usual Argonian Spellsword character.

The places I have seen (EP, AD zones up to near level 7-ish) are beautiful. (And I can say that since the NDA was lifted!)

I don't have a enough knowledge about all Tamriel culture.

Because, first I started Bethesda game from "Fallout3". And second Bethesda title is "Skyrim".

So, I don't know previous TES series...

ESO don't have the same detail level as Skyrim, lots of the clutter would not work in an MMO, area is many times larger so attention to details is more like Oblivion than Skyrim.

Its also set other places, Dominion starting area is tropical, so expect an more colorful place than Skyrim.

It's ok... Would have loved to see more details though. After all we are not playing on 10 year old computers.

In some respects it's better than Skyrim. The lighting and water effects are better, for example. And Skyrim's palette is grey/brown for most of the game, while ESO is a lot more vibrant. The textures are smoother too, where Skyrim can look a little grainy. The characters look so much better than stock, unmodded Skyrim models.

I really like the look. I'm not crazy about some of the weird medium and heavy armor textures that look a bit chunky, and verge slightly on the cartoony side, and I wish some particle effects were a bit more obvious and interesting but otherwise I have no complaints.

ZOS did well. ESO is a nice looking game, and it stands out against the MMOs it's competing with.

Just awesome, for me the best looking mmo out there! I myself don't like the cartoonish style of many other mmo's... ;)

Game looks better than unmodded vanilla Skyrim.

If you mean because TESO actually has color... yeah, sorry, all of Tamriel cannot be stuck in a perpetual snowstorm.

The creatures of TESO have a slightly more cartoonish look, but as far as the world is concerned I think it is fine.

I think it was beautiful. Played on highest settings and 2560x1440 resolution.

A few times I just stood in town and looked at trees and houses. Character armor textures are very good too, spell effects are nice. nothing cartoony. It runs very smooth too. Quite a few people were commenting about the good looks and good performance when I played.

Finally Bethesda gave me Beta test code.

And,I played it,,,

Sorry people, my mistake. It's not "Disney Land", definitely Not.

It's looks like "Game of Middle Earth".

Maybe, I checked wrong picture or something...

Are you hopping between this and Wildstar like me and getting confused? :P

Not seeing anything that makes me think Disney.

Do I like the design? I'm torn. I love the interiors, where lighting comes into play. The dark prison where you start looks fantastic. Once you get outside, things start to look 2005. Ground textures are horrible and don't blend well, low contrast as well. Character models look amazing, but the animation is not. Clothing and armor don't move right as you run.

I haven't really seen enough of the world, but mostly just the outdoors are a real let down.

Yeah I dislike 'cartoonish' type games too. This to me doesn't seem that way and I'm pretty happy with it in that regard. I was thinking about it today and why I prefer it to Neverwinter. It's like with Neverwinter all the animals for mounts were slightly off. I didn't like the giant spider mount at all for that cartoony feel (although it was the fastest). Here you just have a beautiful looking horse.

Avatar faces here look all the sameish and a little on the cartoony side but I'm hoping with just the beta a number of controls are just unavailable. We'll see.
