lol 7 pages filled with thalmor hate wasn't enough eh :D

I still hate them. My khajiit was out in the Reach and came across a bunch leading a prisoner. The reason for taking the man prisoner when I asked "Because we can" summed up the reply. The justicar was not to nice to my khajiit either. His tone of voice made her dig her nails into her palms. So she told the man she believed in what ever she liked, including she believed she could behead him before he could react. The man scoffed but off went his head.

I planted some forsworn arrows on the bodies... that should throw off Elenwen.

They initiated a coup in Valenwood to bring the wood elves under their thumb. They tricked the Khajiit into giving up their independence. They invaded Cyrodiil and Hammerfell, killed thousands. They started a bloody Civil War in Skyrim. Everything the Thalmor touch turns to blood, death, destruction, misery, oppression, and tyranny. Hard to love an organization like that, don't you think?

It's also hard when the ones in Skyrim just come off as very arrogant and condescending. I think this was a flaw on Bethesda's part. If they really wanted to make this political situation in Tamriel a grey area, they would've neutralized the Thalmor's image a bit more.

Why would it be a flaw if they intended to make them bastards? In any case, they make good sword fodder.

Also, they're handy high elves to use for Septimus' blood bank.

The first altmer you met in Morrowind came off as very arrogant and condescending. The Thalmor take it to the highest level.

Perhaps not a flaw...but a missed opportunity for a more sophisticated motive then "blatant elven supremacists." I personally don't think it's necessary to get so heavy handed with villain types. There's a deeper and more sophisticated way of going about it that might allow the player to briefly empathize with their position and in result, allow them play the hero in a greater sense by sparing or taking a Thalmor member's life.

At least the Thalmor are nothttp://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Vorcha

In a way the thalmor are the ulimate racist branch of the Altmer.

The majority of them would hold very high opinions of mer and specifically Altmer supremacy over the other races.

Add in they are there to weed out and destroy all worship of Talos, you will have the most militant and overbearing of the bunch. Even the more moderate ones are going to come across as condescending jerks.

The more open minded and less arrogant ones would never be part of the Thalmor organization to begin with

Vorcha are more like the falmer... not even a close comparison. The thalmor are like Turians, if your comparing Skyrim to Mass Effect. Very militant and highly effective in battle. Would have wiped the humans out after First Contact had the counsel not stepped in.
