You've played for years and JUST discovered that?!

I said "walking from Vault 101 south towards Andale", meaning I started at Vault 101 and were walking south in to the direction of Andale. Not south of Andale :P Where I found this is actually West of Megaton. Near the high road, I was following this high road since it basically runs all the way to Andale, which was my target for the day. Just west of Megaton, where that high road pretty much comes to the same level you are, can these things be found.

No that is not in that direct area, that is on the spaceship itself ;)

You're half right... and half wrong. There is an Alien Blaster at the crashed spaceship site. There is also a bunch of ammo lying around there. If, while you are trying to pick up alien ammo, the ammo falls below the ground surface, wait a sec, and it will bob back up. :whisper:

There is also a random event, triggered, at various points throughout the wasteland. This is known as the Firelance event.

Spoiler
An alien spaceship will explode nearby in the air, and ammo will rain down on you, as well as a unique alien weapon that is more powerful that the Alien Blaster, by far.

Some playthroughs, I have never received the Firelance event. Some plays, I have died, because some raider found the weapon before me, and killed me with it --->(I play DiD only.) One play, the Firelance fell on the top of the Super Duper, and I never got it. One play, the alien spaceship exploded ON me. The amount of radiation my character received, for about ten seconds, was amazing. I had to build a ladder, out of single 5mm cases to get the weapon on top of a raised bunker, but I got it.

So, go back. I use the English bobby routine, back and forth, grid pattern. If you have Dogmeat, he will find it for you.

Just a small thing but while up at Fort Constantine just now I found for the first time that there is a wooden plank bridge that leads from the cliff to the roof of the office building. Never knew it existed. I always just went in there through the door on the ground level. I went that route because I thought it might be a good place to snipe at the robots from up there.

Then I saw the walkway and thought oh wow, this is new. Me likey.

Nice work! The Sentry on top of there, is upsetting for me.

I just found a big guns skill book, on a kitchen chair, in the bottom of a roll on/roll off dumpster, in the bottom of Arlington/Falls Church Metro.

I just learned that Dogmeat can make finding that darned blaster much easier. I knew he could hunt down weapons but never thought of that. Can he gather the scattered energy cells too?

Also when doing the Riley's Rangers quest I found a little side story between the nurse terminals in our lady of hope hospital, and the terminal in the lobby of the statesman hotel. They both speak of a guy who gets hurt a lot and likes stealing pillows lol!

Think you mistaken with the Alien ship crash site, there are a few alien ammo rounds around that crash site. But in case that was a spaceship exploding near me, it was a very tiny blast that sounded more like a rocketlauncher firing.

Okay. After you, yourself, described alien ammo to be picked up all around you.... I'm done trying to help you out.

I just found that Ghoul settlement...kinda, Don't remember exactly where it was, I just remember up north.

Sadly all the Ghouls there are hostile, there's around five or six houses there.

I just found the Mole Rat Meat processing facility under Jury Street Metro Station today. Such a charming place, and since I had the Raider Disguise mod on, it felt even more alive than it would have been otherwise. Trouble is there's nowhere near enough Wonderglue compared to the Mole Rat Meat - I wish they had crates and crates of the things down there. I can't figure out how I missed it all these years, though - I must have neglected to enter the station or something. Now to find a mod which allows you to place that machine in Megaton house or something! :)

Mama Dolce's. I believe I got my Ps3 along with FO3 my senior year of highschool, that was a good four and a half years ago. And this is the first time I find Mama Dolce's.

Same with the Arlington house. I guess I never really explored the DC side of town!

I also just noticed that the Chinese Remnants don't speak English! Curse you subtitles!

My character hoards mole rat meat and wonderglue, and makes a trip out there every couple of weeks, to get a fresh supply of the good stuff!

I know a mod exists, because someone here was able to put it in her pocket, and take it out of there.

This is the one I found, and which I will use when I get back to my FO3 PC..

I wish we didn't have to remove the machine from the subway, though, but just have another machine we could obtain and place in our homes. It's almost sad to take it from the subway since it's all set up so nicely. The mole rats respawn too, I think, although the wonderglue doesn't.

My new favorite thing is the jump save glitch. You can jump from any height as long as you save just before landing. When your guy dies from the fall, it'll reload from that save but without the velocity, so he only falls a foot or two before gently touching the ground.

edit - been doing this in Fo3, haven't tried it in NV but I'm thinking it still works. Somebody on /r/fallout told me about it just the other night.

The Underground hideout house mod has one of those machines in it. It's one of the top FO3 nexus mods of all time.

For the first time ever Officer Gomez turned hostile to my Lone Wanderer. He was friendly at first but as soon as LW entered the Vault 101 atrium, Gomez came running after him and he was hostile. Well, Freddie is now without his father.

Yeah, it was quite impressive when I tried it - although I don't quite remember seeing the machine there. I only tested it for a day or so, after all.

Unfortunately, I found that most housing mods, including that one, tend to make things too nice (I mean, do all houses need pristine Nuka-Cola machines and Bobblehead stands?) and take away from the "post-apocalypse world" feel. I've taken to adding a few containers and some lighting to one of the abandoned houses in Grayditch and living there. Probably end up placing a fast-travel marker in front of the Talon company camp as well - that place looks really nice.

I got into fallout 3 when I was ten years old. 3 years later at the age of 13, two years ago, I noticed that the items in your inventory are in alphabetical order. I *facepalmed* and thought "wow, all that time searching through for stims and such when I could've thought of the beginning of the name and went to the items with the same beginning letter."

That just means they got attacked and came up short.

Normally I'd agree with that, but in this case I'd have to say no. Why? Because they were like that from the second I walked out of Vault 101, at the very start of the game. On their very first appearance outside the Megaton gates, approximately ten game minutes after leaving the vault, the merchants were shorthanded like I described. There was literally no time for them to be getting attacked yet.
In other words I think they were put in play that way.

No he's not. You should definitely try to go back if you can remember where it happened. (not the crashed alien ship, but where you heard the boom sound) Bring the dog with you and have him find you a weapon.... .... notice the periods there for dramatic effect... ...

:tops:

Face palm indeed. I hope you enjoy the "new" tunes.

Well, that certainly is a bummer.

I recently made the jump from PS3 Fallout 3 to the PC version. I didn't expect to see a mini house on a shelf in Minefield. Nor did I expect the Ghouls to be hot pink, but I suppose that is a bug more than anything.

I recently discovered what happens when you buy multiples of the same schematic - you get an improved version. I bought one off a trader without realising I already had it and got a message saying I now have version 2.0. Which is nice. At least I have something to spend caps on now

Yeah, that's pretty cool huh. The condition of some of the weapons starts off better with improved schematics while others get you additional units like nuka nades and bottlecap mines.
