I think it's the most terrible thing Bethesda did: take a memorable character from Fallout and Fallout 2, then bring him to such an ignoble end just for kicks. It's a pretty horrible thing to do.
You are correct as far as the vanilla game is concerned. However, both the Victory Rifle and Ol' Painless are both suppressed when you are using FWE.
I love to find my way up to one o fhte ledges at the main intersection (where they all meet), equip my Fat Man and send them a few mini nukes to settle things down.
After that it's much easier to mop up the rest.
Been playing a few years now off and on, and seem to find new things every time I start a new game. A few days ago I just discovered an abandoned diner I'd never seen before, due west of TenpennyTower near the mountains.
Not much seemed to be going on there mind you, but the thrill of finding a place I hadn't seen before after all this time playing was great nonetheless
Over the years, I have easily like 600 hours in Fallot 3 lmao. And I've never been to this places, but I loved it - Hubris Comics. I feel so stupid for never being there until now. It's awesome.
Doesn't sound familiar, but I looked it up, this place is pretty far WNW of Tenpenny, like almost two full gridsquares. It's closer to and due east of F. Scott Key campground.
I just found out that it is possible to BLOW UP Vault 101 in the "Trouble on the Homefront" quest
I just visited this last night...i wanted to try out the beta test game on the terminal in there. Haha
Hmm, is this the diner associated with Jigg's Loot hidden quest?
mwuhahaha!!
That was just the gorundwork for FO4. Todd Howard said "back to basics, gang," and so it was done.
Nah, that's the one by Jury Street Metro. I don't know if there's anything compelling about this one. From the other guy's description didn't sound like it.
I feel like I have found something recently I never stumbled upon before. It was a transmitter near Shalebridge that led to a hidey hole. I have probably put 3000 hours or more in and it seemed new to me, although maybe I was there before? Oh lawd, this is not a good sign. *smashes PC*
-lol.
- hmm, i recall another unmarked diner. Raiders looked like they lived there. You can walk around to the back of the exterior and it was closed. There were a couple bunk beds and various loot. I wonder if that was it.
Also..3000 hours..you will prove to be a valuable resource.
I have been re- searching an unmarked location that I found on my very first play through. It's a man hole that goes down into a bunker. It's in the upper-right quadrant of the map..near the mountains. In the bunker was a bed and some shelves, fully stocked with pre-war foods. Any lightbulbs going off? I'm sure that it wasn't one of the bunkers that associated with a radio signal..or at least I'm pretty sure.
I may talk some smack on FO3, but it's still fun, particularly with mods.
The raider diner is probably Grisly Diner, it's the only one that's got a concrete wall in the back. It's practically in the middle of a field. There's, I think, some penned up brahmin a little NE and Temple of the Union is south of it. You walk in and the raiders come around and ambush you, there's also a bunch of mines.
Another one you might be thinking of that definitely is unmarked is near Andale (north... ish, I think) and is close to a random encounter spawn point (whatever type encounter the Firelance is). I think the Red Racer factory is right around there too. It doesn't really match the rest of your description but I believe there are either raiders right there, they're wandering in the general area, or they ambush like the grisly diner. I want to say this one has a US Army: 30 Handy Flamethrower Recipes book inside.
The hole in the ground is probably http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Signal_Oscar_Zulu, close to the grisly diner. There's one much further south http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Signal_Yankee_Bravo. I don't think there are any that actually aren't related to a radio signal, at least not as far as what I'm thinking you're talking about.
Bummer, its not any one of those..it was a manhole on a rock..as opposed to a sewage drain. It was near a road..might have to walk it for an hour and try again. I know for sure there was No Ham radio anywhere inside. Thanks.
Erm, the place where the Explosives bobblehead is is kinda in a rock--well basically at the very bottom of a rock formation--and there's a trap-laden manhole about due west of Tenpenny around a small valley... it's actually closer to Warrington. Both of these places have ham radios, and the one with the bobblehead is pretty hard to miss... the one by Warrington could be easily missed. The Warrington one also has a mininuke, a Duck & Cover aaaand a workbench among other things.
How sure are you about the ham radio (unless I'm forgetting them, everything outside the DC ruins has one and is close to either a tower or a radio station) and can you think of anything else about it? Was there a skill book or a quantum or anything?
e2a: Was the Grisly Diner the right one?
That's the thing, it was unmarked and the only distinguishing factor was the stacked shelves of food. very neatly placed. The bunker was through a manhole in a rock formation by a road. I always wondered if it was and easter egg.
There is a metal door, in a rock face, west of Tenpenny. It is related to Broken Steel.
After playing off and on since FO3 came out, today I found a place called the Shelter, NW of Dupont West. It has a regular blue door like a sewer entrance and there is no map marker. It's one strange place with all of those plungers and bloody hand prints going up the wall. Oh and there's a big broken statue in there as well.
You're doing it wrong. You will get greater effect with your condescending reply if you change "whatever" to "whatsoever." Just a tip for the future.
There is nothing west of Tenpenny, save the door that I described. There is a diner near the ssw corner of the map. It's up a hill. At the bottom of the hill are bubbling pools of radiation. There is a random encounter there. If you get the Firelance event, you will never find it, as there are too many rocky tors. SW of Tenpenny, is the entrance to a DLC, as well.
I bought FO3 on release 2008. I've logged well over 1000 hours all told. I've recently discovered Brahmin tipping.......
I found that too not too long ago...
I tried to take all the gnomes and store em in Tenpenny... But alas... I was 12.3 Pound overweight...
One one the bunkers or radio tower that contained the People's American Radio(Communist radio), oh and the cemetery that has Chinese insurgents in it.
The main thing for me I guess is that after 250 hours I found out you could delete saves in the game′s menu by simply right-clicking. Before that I went to My Games and deleted them there. And how did I know which ones to delete after a couple of hours of play? I wrote the save numbers down on a piece of paper. When I discovered the much easier way I had three papers full of crossed-over numbers!
the first 20 times is hilarious isn't it?
heard that...
It wasn't meant to be condescening, sorry you took it that way. As for your "door to a DLC" thing, what I meant was that since I never mentioned having any DLC, never said a word about it in fact, one might come to the conclusion (and you'd be right) that I don't have said DLC thus I wouldn't know a thing about it.
Jeez people. I posted a comment relative to the topic. Why must so many of you make it so difficult? I don't get this board sometimes. I really don't.
In my game there is an abandonded diner due west and a bit north from Tenpenny. Period. When you're at the damn thing you can SEE the top of Tenpenny tower in the distance. Nearby there's a large nook in the cliffs where a random encounter can occur. That's it.
All I'm saying is that after playing this game for a few thousand hours or so I had never seen this particular location. Maybe we can just leave it at that.
Am I still being too condescending for you?
