@Arasteele,

I found that diner recently myself. I think it was on my third or fourth playthrough. I also just found another drainage chamber on top of a rock hill about half way between Tenpenny and Jocko's Pop and Gas.

And everyone, thanks for the tip on deleting old saves. I never knew you could delete saves in the current game.

Then let's rewind a bit. I found your initial post a bit cryptic, as I haven't played any DLC's thus I left any mention of that out of my post. The shortness of your post left me wondering what it had to do with what I was saying, thus I was in hindsight equally short with my response to you. Let's just say we got off on the wrong foot with each other and move on, yes?

I have another 'first' to share. As of yesterday, after telling Sydney weeks ago to basically take a hike, I finally ran into her again out in the wastes.... and she wasn't alone.

Here's how it went: ***(don't continue reading if you're one who is concerned about spoilers)***

Back in the National Archives I told her to get lost, I don't need her. I've done this in past playthroughs, but never have had any sort of closure to the story. Anyways she simply ran away, out the front door and out across the Mall. I followed her this time, just to see if I could figure out where she goes. Lucky for her I had just previously been through the central mall trenches area and cleared it of muties. She ran a certain distance and then *poof*.... she disappeared. Gone. Vanished.

I returned to the Hat'l ARchives and completed the quest. Never saw her again, and as usual was left wondering as to what happens to her.

Jump a week or two ahead to yesterday, myself and Jericho are up in the northern part of the map, when we come overtop this rise and see down in this revine two rather hot females in combat armor fighting a couple of rad scorps, and the scorpions are getting creamed. I instinctively rush down there to try and help, and also to see who it is, and lo and behold --- it's the long lost Sydney. (yay! Right?) (Wrong!)

Let's just say the reunion didn't go so well. I'll leave it up to you guys to find out the details on your own, but I will say I did like the look of her companion. I kind of wish I/you/the player could meet and interract with her under other better circumstances, but sadly this is the only plotline where I've seen her make an appearance.

Amazing that even after logging several thousand hours playing this game spread out over several years you can still find items, people, places, and scenarios you've never seen before.

In Takoma Park I found some weird ghoul in some spot like hidden today, I am shocked by this and I am pretty sure someone already found this and let it out to the world!

The reason I said "due west" was because while I was standing there in front of the diner in question I looked at my compass thingy while looking dead center at Tenpenny Tower, and it read as almost exactly "E" (for straight East I presume), thus I made my initial post of "due west" based on that.

In hindsight I of course should have also looked at the map, and if I had I would have then included the "and a little bit North" part. In my defense I also really didn't want to just give precise exact directions but rather leave the door open so others could do some exploring of the area and thus feel like they "discovered it" themsevles, rather than me just telling you all every detail.

It really is very close to being due west though. You guys are so picky! :D

You sure can. The diner's just south of the VAPL-66 power station. West and north of Tenpenny Tower, just as you said. :D

I may not be able to find a scrapyard the size of Texas in this game, but I do remember this diner because my character slept in it while following the road north.

Having complete my "evil character" playthrough last week, I started a new game with a new, nicer character. This marks approximately my 50th playthrough of FO3, and wouldn't you know it, just yesterday I once again found something I had never seen or noticed before. (This game really is astounding in that regard)

YET ANOTHER SOMETHING NEW --

Without giving it away too much I can tell you this: I was in Vernon Square, which is of course a pretty big place with lots of off-shoots and blind dead-end allies, tunnel and metro entrances, etc. But in one of those dead-end areas I found a sewer hole entrance I had never noticed before. I've been in that area many times of course, but since it's an obvious dead end (due to the collapse of buildings) I never walked my character to the very end of it, thus never noticed there was something there.

One clue, since as I said there are a lot of off-shoots in Vernon Square. There is a nearby working nuka-cola machine. I realize that there are several of those machines in a few different off-shoots, so if this is something you too have not seen before you'll just have to look around a bit. In VERNON SQUARE. I'm not talking about the sewer hole in The town up north, I'm not talking the sewer hole in Junktown from FO1. :D

And it was, for me anyway, a very cool find. When you've been playing the game this long anything new becomes cool.

Not sure if its been said, but I recently learned that when hacking a terminal, you can find opening and closing brackets () {} [], often with various text between them, and each matching pair you find will remove a wrong password, and it has a chance to "refresh" your number of attempts.

Just went through the Georgetown Ruins for the First Time. I like the Gusty Robot in the Townhouse's poem; Mostly Because I did a report on a Ray Bradbury Story that reminds me of the scene.

I have had an Intelligence of 4, but never 3. At an INT of 4, I was on the floor, crying with laughter when I had an interesting conversation with Dr. Lesko. It's cool to know that it goes beyond that. :twirl:

Yay Oblivion, but I already know that that is the greatest game of all time.

I've never had a low intelligence character but I have checked out one of Styles' YouTube videos of such a character. I don't think I could enjoy playing a character like that. But the videos work well enough.

I knew that. Playing FO 1 & 2 on minimum intelligence is hilarious. Never tried it in 3 yet. But I will I think. Perhaps with a high Charisma and Luck.

lol @ the Busey reference :D
