Do you prefer Elder Scrolls or Fallout?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 12:00 pm

I like both, for separate reasons. I like Fallout 3 because it's so not story-based. After 6 hours I forget the game even has a story.

And I like Oblivion because I can make my stealthy assassin character who stalks his prey.

It really depends on my mood actually, If I want to slash stuff in a medieval fantasy world, I play Elder Scrolls. If I want to shoot mutants and rebuild a wasteland. I play Fallout :P

TES barely tops FO. Excluding FO3.

Edit: As in, I liked FO2 and FO:NV but not FO3. Don't know why, really.

I really love both, and have played FO1, 2, 3, and NV, as well as TES 3 and 4 (and hours of daggerfall, but that just takes too much time for me to commit to), but if I had to choose one to live with forever, it would have to be Elder Scrolls. It seems to usually grab my attention more, and the style is more attractive. both are still amazing games though, and I hope to play more of both in the future.

One of my favourite games of all time is Morrowind, but Oblivion was such a dissapointment that it kind of ruined TES for me, hopefully Skyrim can redeem the franchise in my eyes, hopefully. I'd say overall, Fallout. I like the setting, the writing and the potential it has without being able to just say "Magic!". It's a setting that can offer great diversity which is something most post-apocalyptic settings lack. Also it's funny, that helps.

Elder Scrolls for me.

I can't stand Fallout 3. I've tried 3 times to play Fallout 3 and have never gotten any farther into the game than reaching Megaton.

Elder scrolls is kicking major butt... 49 to 14? It is obvious which game is the best. Elder Scrolls all the way. Dystopia is not my thing.

I generally hate fantasy, but Oblivion caught me. And turn based combat is just a pain in the ass to get used to when you've been playing on consoles your whole life, but Fallout 3 changed that. So... it's a tie for me.

As they come from the box, I prefer Fallout, however, mods make me a much more devoted Elder Scrolls user instead.

I've always preferred the medieval setting; Swords, elves, dwarves, magisters, etc. Can't get enough of it, which is why I choose TES.

I am a bigger fan of post apoc games, so fallout.

even when i used to roll PnP, a friend designed a post apoc that was probably my favorite RPG

I prefer Fallout 3 to all others but I think I will prefer Skyrim to all others in a few months.

TES has my vote. Fallout is okay enough, but the post-apoc thing gets boring quick.

Morrowind was one of my first RPG's, followed by Obivion. I love FO3 and FNV, but they don't even come close to the love I have for the Elder Scrolls. Not even close.

TES all the way :tes:
