Do you really care about the AI that much?

Brink AI levels up, unlocks upgrades and improves at the same rate you do. So Brink AI on Easy when you're level 1 will get destroyed by Brink AI on easy when you're level 20.

Normal AI is obviously gonna be even better, but still has to be beatable, Hard AI will most likely be close to playing an online match. Judge the AI when you're a few levels higher.

Well, according to fragworld (quoting the devs) the AI should appear relatively intelligent. They will be able to recognize that certain areas are basically death traps and take a longer route and thus proceed in flanking. They should also follow their own objectives, so while they may not actually have the greatest AI programming in the world, the fact that they are hacking command posts, blowing up objectives, or just reviving you when you are downed should be able to make up for the everyday standard of AI programming by giving being able to perform such tasks that it makes the game have a challenging aspect to it, even offline.

I hope this is the case.

Even though I plan to play mostly Multiplayer, I enjoy having intelligent and fairly balanced AI. This the case with Call of Booty: Black Ops(I'm not dissing CoD, I always call it this). Ever since the PSN went down, I've been forced to play with Black Ops terribly unfair AI, with absolutely NO recoil, ability to see me through walls, to respond to my presence in a split second, random ass turning around and shooting etc. Also, some times I enjoy taking a break from playing with people that way I can play at my own pace and practice using new weapon and ability combinations. So I'm hoping Brinks AI are not moronic and/or unfair

I like good AI as well. Can't stand the black ops AI and all their BS.

I am not concerned about bots. I will play the single player campaign once through for the two factions just to get the story line. Then it will be all MP for the rest.

I dont. Unless you are forced to I wont be playing single player at all, and if you are it will only be to the extent of unlocking what I need then never doing it again.

This game is clearly MP orientated and should be bought and assessed with that in mind. If you are looking for a strong solo experience there are other shooters out there designed in this way like Killzone and such which would provide more of the experience you may be looking for. It's multiplayer that keeps you playing for weeks, months and even years not single player.

Lastly Bots are crap in every game ive ever played so what exactly is the issue for Brink?, that Splash Damage failed to revolutionize computer programming and take Artificial Intelligence to the next level?. Or maybe that the heavy use of objectives and multiple ways of completing them exposes just how little bot AI has actually advanced industry wide in the last 10 years.
In a game like CoD which is almost entirely deathmatch your bots dont need to do anything but shoot and move. The current standard of bot AI using the big advancements of the last decade like ducking in cover when shot at or moving between cover during no fire is adequate for the task but in no sense is it an achievement or progression.

This is exactly the attitude that will keep A.I. the same for another 10 years. 'Oh, Well this game is multiplayer oriented so we won't worry too much about A.I. someone else can handle it.' Altho yes, Skyrim is doing this, But, How many other companies are willing to progress so far only to have their engines reverse engineered and other companies basically ripping off their technology, Tweaking it, And calling it their "New and improved A.I.". I personally, Would be completely pissed off.

Very important to me too. Sometimes I just want to chill and have a nice fun match with no lag, no campers, and no worries. Can't get that with human opponents.

And since I enjoy bot matches so much, I really want them to be worthy foes. On hard difficulty, at least. Easy mode for when I want to feel like (even more of a) wrathful Greek god.

Yes, I do care about AI a lot. I like to play single-player a lot, and SD says they are trying to make the single-player good for those
who do play offline (I always played Campaign/single-player story modes in FPS games, believe it or not, lol).
I just hope the AI is decent-ish, that is all I ask for. ^_^

I think people are making a big deal out of the bots because of the fact SD has spent a considerable amount of time talking up their AI.
