Do you really need 8GB of RAM to play with new DX11 and HD ?

I had at look at the requirements, it states that 8gb is recommended,

i have 6 gb and I have set everything to extreme with vsync off, the load times have dramaticaly increased as well as stuterring.

can anyone recomend me settings that run smoothly on dx11 with hd activated ?

Can't figure out what I've done as before the 1.9 patch and HD ,dx11 it ran beautifully !

I'd like to play with the highrst setting but with no lag, as I dare not to go online !

I have 5970 xfire with 6gb ram and a i7 920.

Cheers

4Gb is on the edge, 6GB is optimal really. I have 6GB and it's just fine but when I had 4GB, it didn't seem quiet as responsive.

I got 4GB and even without high textures (which I can't use atm) my memory usage is scraping the top.

6GB or more for dx11 IMO, 8 GB for high textures should give plenty of headroom for windows and other stuff running.

No, as everyone has witnessed before in my situation, you dont, you can run Dx11 and high res with 4GB and 768 vram, its plenty. Task manager reports only 3.5 Ram is used at any time, on windows 7

yes, you do, 6G is the edge to get the settings max up. 8G is plenty.

Nobody said you couldn't, it's about being optimal and having headroom for other stuff after you have put your system under such stain.

Does anyone get a ton of mesh loading object texture graph failed to load in the console.

Speaking of vram I have 1280 on gtx 570hd. I have noticed some people get higher vram usage with more vram.

could my console mesh issues be releated. I did a full clean install and have no mods or anything altered besides msaa off.

And also does some part of the game float over to pc memery modules if the vram runs out. The max vram I have seen on my card is 1250 in evga precesion. It could be maxed though I dont really know.

I am happy I can run the game on full ultra but I have postpocessing set to extreme until its fixed.

8GB is the norm these days. I doubt you really need more than 6GB to be honest. But that's just my opinion and I'm probably wrong.

You know why you are getting all these different answers?
Because not all RAM is created equal. 6gb of high end gaming RAM can easily out perform 8gb of some off the shelf pre-installed RAM you get in a low end dell or hp. RAM can also be held back by a cheap motherboard and a slow system clock. It all intertwines and makes a huge difference. Ya maybe you have RAM equal to a ferrari but guess what, even a ferrari moves slowly in bottle necked city traffic.
