Do you regret purchasing the PC version?

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 9:23 am

It's not that I find the game particularly terrible but I'm still regretting my digital purchase. Overall I found it to be a fairly solid game but PC version just has so many issues which annoy me and Crytek do not seem to believe in communicating with the PC community on what they will/won't address which I find most disturbing. Anyway, what is everyone else's thoughts on the matter?

Yes. Because after 6 months i'd get this game cheaper, with DX11 and with less retarded bugs. We've paid full price for some beta crap that will someday be worth what we paid now...

I don′t regret it...not at all. Shure it has bugs, no Dx11 (yet) and there are cheaters/hackers on many servers. But i enjoyed playing the singleplayer wich was really good compared to other shooters and i had some really good MP matches, when there was no cheater around!

Nothing has gone well for me.
SP - ok just with some minor bugs and flaws including melee, nano catalyst and AI stupidity.
MP - totally crap. First few days > count down for 100 years. Now, cheaters everywhere.

MP is currently unplayable.

At first i thought the entire experience was the biggest pile of ********** i've ever played... but hey it grew on me, the single player campaign got better, with some absolutely stunning setpieces. Like times square for example... (which reminded me alot of that unreal 2011 tech demo).
I even liked the multiplayer, considering it would never let me play the previous game online, (crysis wars) i'm giving it a thumbs up for actually lettign me play!!!

Can't answer until they fix it. The only thing i don't like is the physics. like shooting a rocket on civilians or a small wooden box and they dont move. Even half life 2 had better physics lol. Apart from that and the bugs/hacks/broken mp its pretty good. So we just need the patches. I bought this game specifically for mp... but... i'll wait...

I regret it. I pre-ordered the Nano Edition and got this POS...
Thinking about going back to my "old ways"...if the game devs and companies are gonna keep this up, why in the world would any of us support them?

And just as a side note: The way that backpack smelled when I unwrapped it, I wonder how many people were poisoned producing them...

I preordered too, and as a fan of the original games, I'm very disappointed with Crytek and the launch of Crysis 2
A console port with no PC exclusive features and a buggy release to boot
And to top it off, I've not been able to play multiplayer for 2 weeks now because of log in errors

No regrets as such.

Black ops was poor, very poor and boring. Bad company 2 is great, if not a bit too buggy for the amount of time its been out. Crysis fills a hole between those, fun, plenty of players online and something I can play with friends. Also for once I dont mind this lobby system as its still dedicated.

On the other hand I do regret that I cant use my LE code and there are pirates playing it for free, while I still dont get the advantages of paying £30.

lawl no i don't regret a quarter i payed for this game... single player is great ive just completed it and thus had no problem at all with it no nano catalyst reset or crash or any bug which could make my mission go impossible! For multiplayer its totaly great, yeah i ran into a hacker or two... but now crytek has introduced anti cheating system and there wont be any hackers that will cheat so hurray! and in a month i bet you all will think differently about this game. Sure it had not so good start but that doesn't mean its not going to kick ass in few weeks when it gets fixed :) peace yall!

I pre-ordered it specifically for SP and a bit for MP, so I regret it. Crytek will focus mainly on MP and critical technical bugs (crashing game, problems with textures or sound) and maybe, maybe AI bug - running towards the wall. I don't believe they will fix anything else in SP. We must live with the fact that C2 is "the cake" that turned to be a console game ported to PC with so much compromises. I think, they'll better start developing datadisk if EA wants.

Recently I decided to give my Xbox 360 to my cousins and instead buy a PC, because I have wanted to have a gaming PC since I new about PC gaming (12? :P). I then played Crysis for the first time -- ultra high, with none of that frames-per-second optimisation crap; everything on the most demanding -- and thought "Wow! This is way better than playing on a console! The graphics kick the consoles' ass!" (Which I new beforehand, but for the sake of the argument...)

Then Crysis 2 came out and thinking that, having the name of the first game in the title -- accompanied by a 2 (which usually signifies the thing is more advanced than the previous) -- assummed that the game would either be graphically equal, but perhaps optimised better, or be superior to Crysis. So, I went to the shops on the day and bought it. I came home and installed it, then started it up. Everything went smoothly and I got none of the problems listed on these forums. I started the campaign, but nay: it was not superior. It was not even on par. It was sub par. I then regretted buying it.

The only plus is that the gamepad controls are better than in Crysis 1, and it's online is pretty easy (I use a gamepad online), though I haven't played Crysis 1 online.

I especially regret buying it when I read this from Cry-Adam today:
Crysis 2 and DX11
No announcements have been made on this topic and anything read on other sites is purely speculation.
Which I take to mean "We're not doing it".

EDIT: Ah, yes, I forgot Crysis: Warhead :P I have that, though I only played it briefly. Still playing Crysis 1. I don't have a lot of time because of uni :(

Absolutely Yes!!! I am a owner of Crysis 1 and Warhead too. But this last game called "Crysis 2" is a complete FAIL. First I wasn't so mad about multiplayer because I knew they will fix it, but of course I bought it for that too. I had some problems also. But I finished the game on post-human difficulty with almost all unlocks.
Today unfortunately after the "f***** great CHEATERS PATCH" I went to try the multiplayer. It conects me with few servers and immediately disconect. After of about a 5 min my PC just freeze and I had to reset it. FYI never happend to me since last year!!
So I run Crysis 2 again and after the f**** intro I realized I lost ALL my savegames, unlocks, EVERYTHING!!!!!! Now I really, I mean REAALY HATE CRYTEK FOR WHAT THEY DID TO THE CRYSIS COMUNITY!!!!!!
I never ever gona Buy any games from YOU!!!!!!!

To Cevat Yerli: "PC COMUNITY FIRST"?? YOU WILL NOT FOOL ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOPE MANY PC OWNER WILL DO THE SAME AFTER THIS FAIL OF THE YEAR!!!!!!

Goodbye gamesas. We never gona see each other again!

Crysis 2 is still the best game, just the bugs needs to be fixed. Wait a week, calm down, download the newest patch, and have fun. I hope this will happen.

Latest patch for what? DX11? They're not going to do that, it seems. The only reason I'm here is because I wanted info on the DX11 patch. So long, Crytek. The only games of yours I will play are Crysis 1 and Warhead.

And who cares about any future MP updates. Its MP is a freaking COD clone (I would know, I played COD a lot on Xbox, and a bit on PC at my friends house). Just boot up MW2 (Because Black Ops was terrible) and play that instead.

And after reading this about Skyrim from Wikipedia:
[we] are working at pop-up issues, and we want to make sure that the graphics of the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 are alike. All three will look just as good, aside from the higher resolution and the anti-aliasing of the PC, of course.
I will think thrice before buying that (and any other PC game from now on).

Yes, I do regret it, wish i could get a refund. Should have waited 6 months when it was around $25-30 bucks. Thats all this game is worth patched and with DX11. There are so many issues that a patch will not fix that it is never going to be a $60 game (being basicaly a generic console port).
I love Crysis and WH but Crytek has lost my respect with this disgrace, EA never had it, I bought this game with the Crytek's abilities in mind from my experiance with Crysis. From now on, I will wait until the game has been out for some time and patched and to read acctual reviews from players and publications not hardcoe fanboy tools and paid-off reviewers. Only then will I possibly consider purchasing from Crytek again.

And ChaosComplex that little excerpt from Bethesda, if true, makes me a very sad Panda...I tried to find it in Wiki but I couldn't.
