Recently I decided to give my Xbox 360 to my cousins and instead buy a PC, because I have wanted to have a gaming PC since I new about PC gaming (12?
). I then played Crysis for the first time -- ultra high, with none of that frames-per-second optimisation crap; everything on the most demanding -- and thought "Wow! This is way better than playing on a console! The graphics kick the consoles' ass!" (Which I new beforehand, but for the sake of the argument...)
Then Crysis 2 came out and thinking that, having the name of the first game in the title -- accompanied by a 2 (which usually signifies the thing is more advanced than the previous) -- assummed that the game would either be graphically equal, but perhaps optimised better, or be superior to Crysis. So, I went to the shops on the day and bought it. I came home and installed it, then started it up. Everything went smoothly and I got none of the problems listed on these forums. I started the campaign, but nay: it was not superior. It was not even on par. It was sub par. I then regretted buying it.
The only plus is that the gamepad controls are better than in Crysis 1, and it's online is pretty easy (I use a gamepad online), though I haven't played Crysis 1 online.
I especially regret buying it when I read this from Cry-Adam today:
Crysis 2 and DX11No announcements have been made on this topic and anything read on other sites is purely speculation.
Which I take to mean "We're not doing it".
EDIT: Ah, yes, I forgot Crysis: Warhead
I have that, though I only played it briefly. Still playing Crysis 1. I don't have a lot of time because of uni
